Great Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/16/10
My boyfriend and I along with another couple stayed here Dec. 21-23, 2009 for the first time. We loved it! We found a great deal through Orbitz.com. The bar closes at 10pm which is early, but after spending 3 nights in Vegas we were ready to just relax...which we did. We went skiing for the first time as well, which as pretty reasonably priced; $90 for the day including ski rentals. The food at the hotel is amazing. Every plate we ordered was really good. The downside is that you can only eat there at the resort unless you travel 20 min to the next restaurant, which we didn't do, we just ate there because the food was so good. The heater didn't work too well one of the nights, but because it got down to 19 degrees, so we just slept with warm pjs and used 2 blankets. Overall we all loved it and are going to return next Christmas Vacation (we're teachers). The staff was nice and friendly, especially one of the ladies at the bar! Also, the resort is only a short 40 min drive from the airport, where we rented our car, we just entered the address on our phone's navigation system, and we had not trouble getting there. *they don't let you up the mountain to the ski lodge unless you have a 4 X4 or chains on your tires, we went to walmart 20 min away to buy the chains, next time we're just going to rent a 4X4 truck.

Never again
By Zenus, 11/15/09
Stayed at the resort for the first time and the heat in the room didn't work. Complained to the front desk and we were given another room and the heat didn't work in that room either. So, we were returned to the previous room and the only thing we were told was sorry, there weren't any maintenance on staff since it was 12 midnight on a Friday night. Temperatures that night were 7 degrees. Also, dirty shower curtain and no cream/sugar with the coffee pot in the room. The worst part was no heat with just a simple hope it doesn't happen again from the desk clerk. Very poor customer service and we will not return.

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
By JOSE, 09/08/09
Great restaurant, bistro, and bar but.... Bathroom in standard room are lacking maintenance (broken tiles, mildew on tiles and shower curtains, cracked sink); Dirty dishes in arcade upstairs and outside in the patio by the bistro. Appetizers served with dirty plates and some menu items are not available. What is available is served in very large portions (have a large appetite because no fridge or microwave in rooms).

Under New Mangement
By Tara, 04/07/09
I went to the hotel now known as the Resort for dinner on friday night with my Best Friend. The food was wonderful the service was great. Then they has a DJ in the bar. so, we decided to stay for a few drinks. I went to ask about room rates and was told that they were 20.00 dollars for that night only they were running a surprise special.. So, We decided to stay the night. The room was so clean. The front desk staff was very helpful. I had not been there in years and my last time was not so good. But let me tell you. what ever they are doing now I LOVE IT!! I will be back for more trips to the diamond that is in the mntn..Mrs.Very Happy

great restaurant
By yahoo reviewer, 03/19/09
Had dinner at the resort over the weekend for a friend's birthday party. The food was fantastic. I have seen a big improvement since the last time I visited (last year). They must have a new chef or something. Our server was fabulous as well. I will be going back for sure. Next time I may stay for a night or two.

love the scenery
By yahoo user, 03/09/09
You will be surprised at what you find if you check out the Mt Charleston Resort. It is clearly under new management, the service has really improved. My husband and I go up to Mt Charleston all the time and we really felt a change when we stopped by the hotel on Sun. The restaurant was wonderful. The new menu is great. Overall the attitude of the staff just felt more friendly and helpful.

wonderful experience
By yahoo contributor, 03/02/09
My wife and I just stayed here to celebrate our anniversary. They gave us an upgrade since it was a special occasion. We had a great view from our suite and enjoyed a wonderful dinner in their restaurant. The service was great from all departments. The best part is that it is such a short drive from Vegas.

great weekend getaway
By TimP, 02/25/09
Stayed at this hotel for a weekend snowboarding trip. It was such a short drive from vegas and was close to Lee Canyon. I will stay here every time i go snowboarding now and maybe even to go hiking in the summer. They have live entertainment on Sat night, which was fun. I also enjoyed my room and the staff. Service was great!

Loved the scenery

My boyfriend and I spent Valentines Day at The Mt Charleston Resort. We loved it! It seems like it is under new management. Our room was clean and well kept. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant. We recieved complimentary chocolate covered strawberries, which was such a nice surprise. The resort is such a nice, close escape from Vegas. The scenery was wonderful. Our room had a view of the snow covered mountains! What a great weekend!
