Help in times of an emergengy
We stayed at Crowne Plaza,Port Moresby between the 1st to 5th of June 2006.Overall it was a very pleasant stay as the people in the Crowne Plaza were very friendly. But what we cannot begin to appreciate is the help extended to us when we were stuck at the airport on the day we were leaving.
When we were dropped off at the hotel,as we were about to go through security check at the airport we realised that our passports were still in the safe in our hotel room.As expected we panicked....we had no way of calling the hotel as our mobilephones dont work there. As my husband left me in the airport to talk to an expat driving to ask the use of his mobile, one of the people from Crowne Plaza who drove us there saw me.He immediately knew i was in trouble from my expression and asked me why i wasnt in the airport yet and were we having any problems.I told him what happened and he assured me all will be well and not to worry. He went to my husband straight to sort out this mess.
Again as i was standing there, the other person from Crowne Plaza a lady who had dropped us off, approached me to ask what happened. Now she immediately contacted the hotel and told me to relax.Next the first person named Elliot drove my husband back to the hotel to get our passports as i was personally escorted by this wonderful lady through security check ...(unfortunately i cannot recall her name)and she found me a seat and told me to wait there and promised to check on me off and on.Which she did!The way she handled everything made me feel so safe.
You cannot imagine the relief we felt at such genuine help extended to us when we were in such a state and how thankful we are that when they saw us they immediately knew we were in trouble. We wouldnt trade this for all the luxury of any hotel in the world as they were there for us when we needed them the most.
Once again we would like to thank these two people from Crowne Plaza who were on duty at 1pm to send passengers to the airport for the 3.25pm flight. One was called Elliot and the other was a lady whom i sincerely thank from the bottom of my heart! In the rush i didnt get her name which i regret now.If i ever return to this beautiful country i will look her up to thank her personally.
