Nice rooms but dogs everywhere. Hotel employees advised this was a "dog friendly" hotel. The elevator and hallways smelled like a dog, there were dogs in the lobby, dog crap on the sidewalks and dogs at breakfast.
Won't go back.
Keep your animals at home.
Large, clean room with full kitchen at a great price. Free in-room internet, huge free breakfast, free evening snack/dinner (most nights), free shuttle within 5 miles, friendly helpful staff, business center with computer access and printing/faxing options.
Located right on streetcar line for free access to downtown. Walking distance to sky tram to get to OHSU/VA.
Had a great experience, would highly recommend to anyone coming to Portland.
Loved the studio-like layout of room...well accommodated with refrigerator, iron, hair dryer, even a basket of goodies and a bowl of mints. The staff was very friendly (even allowed me to check in early).
There's a laundry room on every other floor. A plus when you're on the road for awhile.
They serve a wonderful free buffet breakfast...and I was there when they had get-togethers in the evenings with food and entertainment. That was really nice, too.
Negatices...I don't like having to pay for parking and they do charge a stiff fee to park. The location is is difficult to get to. One day I spent 2 hours trying to find the right road.
HArd to get to. Easy to walk around the area once there. BEST VALUE, Priceline, AND, after we booked a 2nd nite, they treated us like 'King & Queen' after we told them "it's our 32nd Anniversary". (Bubbly and ALL. We'll go back again, definitely.) Also spread the word to my neighbors about our good find!
We always choose Residence Inn when we have business in Portland

It was very clean, the rooms were spacious, well accommodated with refrigerator, iron, hair dryer, even a basket of goodies and a bowl of mints. The staff wasvery friendly. They even helped us with travel plans and making reservations at restaurants. They serve a wonderful free buffet breakfast.
The hotel was great. There was a fantastic complimentary breakfast and the location on the river is super. Just far enough from downtown to be out of the congestion but right on the route for the complimentary trolley service to downtown.
Unfortunately, due to an error on Yahoo it was hard to find. The Yahoo address listed for the Residence Inn was actually the address for the Marriott in downtown Portland. Therefore we ended up at the wrong hotel, had to pay for parking while we tried to check in and looked pretty stupid to the clerk who told us we were at the wrong place. He was kind enough though to assure we were confirmed at the Residence Inn and gave us directions.
