The entire Dover Downs staff are warm & courteous. Everyone from management to the friendly wait staff, to include housekeeping. Its very refreshing to be greeted so warmly upon your arrival! A four star hotel greets you with so much to do. Clean & spacious rooms await you with large flat screens & lots of channel selections. The food at the cafe and the bar and buffet are all delicious. Dover Downs has wonderfully large large rooms and you won't be dissapointed by the the service. The food is excellent. Chef Kaye is at the helm in the kitchen and he certainly delivers every time. Try the wonderful buffet selections & you'll be pleasantly surprised. The D.D. hotel gym offers quite a few pieces of work out equipment and the facility is clean and includes an indoor pool & saunas. This facility is definitely a plus for those great workouts and the pool is a great time for the kids. Thanks for making our wk-end getaways memorable...we'll be back this winter.

The employees are very nice. From the moment you get there until you leave. They have excellent food facilities - you can sit down in luxury or get a hot dog at the deli. I was very surprised the first time I checked into the hotel and found bowls of apples, as a snack, as the desk. Nice gesture.

Nothing really. Everything was perfect. Maybe the downstairs bar was somewhat "unfriendly" and did not have stuff to make my pomagrantit martini, but I survived. I loved it all, and want to go back.

It was a pleasant enough stay. The room service menu was very limited, though the breakfast we ordered in room was great. The service at the desk was good and our requests were granted. Unfortunately, there was a false fire alarm at 8 a.m. in the morning, though I doubt that was the fault of the hotel. The view of the track was great. We'd do it again. P.S. We did not go to the casino as we're not slots fans. The charge for internet in the room was a surprise. We didn't use that either.

My husband (who is terminally ill) and I visited the hotel recently. Traveling was on our list of things to do together while we still had the opportunity. Dover is close to our home. Although I inquired about whether we would be able to check-in if arriving before 4:00 and told we could, the story was completely different when we arrived. Even after explaining to the desk staff and manager on duty that my husband had some health issues that needed to be immediately taken care of, their only response was "the room would not be ready for another 45 minutes" and "check-in time is between 4 and 8 pm." We waited the 45 minutes only to be told it would be another 15-30 minutes before a room would be ready. We had asked for a handicap room but at this point was willing to take whatever was available. Again, told nothing would be available for about 30 minutes. It was over an 1 1/2 hours before we were able to get into a room. The staff was rude and unconcerned about our dilemma, except for one clerk named Jack. He apologized for the inconvenience and inquired about the health of my husband. (Thank you again, Jack.) We were pleased with the size and quality of the room we finally got, although the daily cleaning was average at best. We did like having the convenience of easy access to the casino and the restaurants. We found the food to be very good in each of the places we dined in. It is mainly because of the behavior of the staff that we would give this hotel less than a 4-star rating. The staff could benefit from training in customer relations.

The staff was great and the service also. Loved having the casino and horse races all under one building. \ Will always stay here when in the area. Only wish they had a pool outside.

The hotel accommodations, staff and dinning services were excellent. When it came to playing the slot machines, my spouse and I felt as if were wer paying for the most recent construction. The rewards a minimal or not at all. It was so easy to lose $50.00 in less than 30 min. Heading back to Charlestown.

Went to NASCAR on my 38th birthday with my friend Kathy and from the minute we arrived - I felt like royalty! Our room was upgraded to a suite stocked with a chilled bottle of champagne (complimentary). We had an amazing dinner at Michelle's Restaurant then lost $100 but had a blast doing it in the casino!! the next day we were invited to watch the race from the Governors skybox (he was NOT there, BTW) with a full buffet laid out! One of my most memorable birthdays ever!!

We like going to Dover and playing the slots but I don't understand how they rate people. We have gone on several occasions with family and some family get free rooms 7 days a week and some only get offered rooms Sunday thru Thursday. I know for a fact that the members are spending the same amount and going to the casino the same amount of times during the year. Also, the offers vary considerably. I have found the personnel at the Check In desk to be rude at times and the personnel answering phones aren't very accommodating. We reserved a room one night and when we got there we were told we couldn't check in until 4:00 pm. When I went to check in (exactly at 4:00 pm I was told there was only one room left with a single bed. Well, needless to say there was three of us. So someone had to sleep in the chair that night. Don't seem to be well organized or people oriented.

Well first of all...we stayed 2 nights. In your in room information book you state that guestroom attendants will not enter your room until after 12:00 well after 2 visits from them Before 10:00 and not to be able to have clean glasses, yes we had to rinse out the 4 glasses you gave us and reuse them. We live in Cape May and come over here for a escape. But to be honest this is our last visit. Never would recommend this "Racasino or hotel to anyone. And to mention your casino payouts leave alot to be desired. Never again.. bad vacation for us.
