Candlewood Suites Topeka, Topeka

I have stayed at this location for a few years now. As I read through these critiques, I can honestly say for all the times I have stayed there, I have never had poor service. More recently, with the new manager, I cannot say as I do not think I have seen her. I thought when Shari, Anthony and the rest were there, they were always customer oriented. I think that is why I continued to stay at this location. I could depend on a quiet uninterrupted night's sleep.

Wish I had read other's reviews first. Seveal others mention the same rude management. We reserved a room and paid in advance. On our arrival the management refused to give our family a nonsmoking room with two beds even though they said they had several empty at the same price. They said our kids would have to sleep on the floor. Then they then called up to the room at 3:00 AM and said we would have to rent a second room since that room could only hold two people, per fire code. We said we would not pay them for a second room but we would be happy to move to a room with two beds that cost the same. They told us that our entire party would have to leave. They would not even let just two of us stay there while the others went to a different hotel. Since they refused to give us a refund we are now taking the matter up with American Express who we are confident will give us our money back. FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY.

Stopped in Kansas while commuting to Colorado room smelled horrible payed pet deposit..asked for my money back and was denied after only spending 20 minutes in room was told that the pet deposit was for all the cleaning on the rooms (yeah right) Hotel Management was horrible after I complained my credit card was still charged even though I refused to stay in the room. TV was broken called front desk only after I went down to complain did they want to send maintenance Ended up not even staying in the room and leaving.

Staff was friendly and courteous, even helped when I called for directions because I was lost. I stayed here for the KS bar exam after checking out of a dump across the road. This was such a relief! The rooms are really nice. I stayed in a smaller suite, with a queen bed and kitchenette. Great place to study, there was plenty of desk space and lighting. Having a kitchenette was wonderful. Everything was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with supplies. The bed was great, I wish I could have brought it home with me and the linens were top of the line. This hotel is not particularly quiet. It is right next to the highway and the walls are paper thin. I could hear my neighbors coughing and sneezing, so it was not particularly loud things I was hearing. But this was really the only negative, just wanted to advise those who are light sleepers.

great stay had a very nice room great rates.you need to mark the roads better alittle difficult to find, other wise great place to stay.

Wow was I surprised when I got to my room. I have stayed at many other hotels that offer less for more money. I was even able to wash clothes for free. I really like the little store in the hotel--perfect for a quick meal or snack. The manager and all the were very friendly. I will be sure to stay again next time in Topeka.

The Operations manager was completely dis-respectful, unprofessional, and down right boligerant! The hotel was nice in itself but customer service is the reason you remember or don't care to remember an expirience, especially as a traveler. I love the Candlewood Suites in Overland Park, KS and if it wasn't for them then I would NEVER visit another Candlewood Suites again. EVER... This Lady needs to be fired!!!

this hotel was one of the worst experiences i have ever had in my life at a place. i stay in hotels 10 months out of the year for work. During my stay, a blonde haired lady with the title "operations manager" was extremely rude to me and my wife. I've also had several co-workers recently stay there and say that this woman really harrasses the guest... My honest advice is to stay away from this one.. I highly recommed the candlewoods in salina and overland park ks, but stay away from topeka.

I really liked the location. When I arrived at candlewood I forgot my white card at the Holiday INN Holidome in Salina Kansas. The front desk did all they could do for me. I enjoyed my short stay. The only thing that I found wrong was that the pillows were stuffed to much.

i really did like my check in which was by sam and the lady who worked thru the night which was sara who also checked me out they both made me feel very welcomed. they this was my first time staying at the candle wood and when i first saw it i rated it as a 4 but sara & sam made it a five. i hope there boss see's this they were poilte,and helpful they really stood up to there solgan OUR SPACE YOUR PLACE thanks sara &sam
