Wonderful experience
By ,
A quaint, charming small hotel. Our room was quiet, clean, and had everything we needed. With the construction and one-way streets it was a little difficult to get to but it was well worth it. The restaurant had a surprisingly extensive breakfast menu, the food was delicious. Our dinner in the Bonaparte restaurant was incredible and the service made us feel like stars. Walking around Old Town Montreal was as easy as stepping out of the door, and the Notre Dame Basilica is just around the corner. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly. It was a wonderful experience and we would love to return.

We'll be back!
By ,
Once we were able to locate (a lot of one way streets and also construction) we loved the hotel. Room overlooking the garden. Small but perfect. We were going to an event on the waterfront and found it was easy walking distance. On the way back to hotel strolled the streets and did some window shopping. Had a wonderful dinner at the hotel, the service was great. Breakfast included and was more extensive than expected, not to mention delicious. Glad we ate in.

Right size, right place in old Montreal
By ,
After figuring out how to drive to front door on a one-way street in a warren of little streets, everything else was great! Beautiful room, with austere, clean yet sufficient furnishings. Very comfortable bed, and the pillows were soft and conformable (not like the thick hard pillows that some places think are good). Free WiFi internet. Tasty to order breakfast from a limited menu. Evening meal was the epitome of service and setting with excellent taste. Scant blocks from Place St.Jacques-Cartier, H'otel de Ville, St Paul street with all its bars and restaurants, with the back facing into the Notre Dame Cathedral garden, three blocks or so from the riverfront. Great staff at the desk and in the restaurant! We'd want to stay there again if we return to Montreal.

Loved it!
By ,
The MOST friendly hotel I've ever stayed at. The front desk person, especially Cloe, was so helpful. Everyone went out of their way to provide the best possible service above and beyond what you would expect. This is a boutique inn/hotel and the location is perfect. Other than the street side being noisy (you'll need to close your windows on a Saturday nite), this hotel far exceeded our expectations. The rooms were lovely. The staff was even lovelier!! Merci.

GREAT hotel!
By ,
LOVED the hotel...great location, but they need to review their parking policy. I payed $28 to park my car next door for less then 24 hours!! Other then parking, the hotel was as close to great as I've experienced.

disappointing
By ,
Great location if you want to see old Montreal or attend convention centre, however, after travelling extensively in France, we were very disappointed in what is supposed to be a 4 star rated hotel. Lobby would be ok in small rural town, but not here, dismal, inappropriately furnished, and most un-welcoming. Cute bar, but again not welcoming...nobody there ! Room was gloomy, bare floors, stained and chipped paintwork, uncomfortable iron furniture....... couldn't sit up in bed and watch outdated TV set, TV in bar might have brought in a few patrons. Breakfast was great but in out-dated surroundings..bare brick walls ! Needs a major facelift.

Great for a Romantic Getaway
By ,
My wife and I loved this place. I was bit worried because of that horrible picture they have posted of the front of the hotels website, but what a wonderful surprise when we got there. The minute you step foot outside the hotel it feels like your in Paris. This hotel was great and I cant wait to go back!

Had a wonderful stay
By ,
In Aug. we were on a reunion trip, 4 couples, and decided to stay at the Auberge Bonparte. We made the right decision. The rooms were great, hard wood floors and very large rooms. The staff was very nice to us and helped with all kinds of questions we had, including how to ride the Metro. We were within walking distance of all the old shops and restaurants and the nightly entertainment in the square. Diffently would go back.

Treated Like Royalty for an Enchanting Anniversary
By ,
The staff was warm, charming and attentive to all our needs. The iive-course tasting menu is to-die-for, and at only $62 per person is a steal. The food was absolutely breathtaking...EVERYTHING on the menu was mouthwatering. I can't wait to go back next year, as it has become a new anniversary tradition. Highly recommended!
