Can't wait to go back wonderful place
By ,
It was a little rough at first due to RCI messing us up and not getting our reservation to the Hotel. The staff at dreams tulum is very nice and took good care of me and my family. The manager even went so far as to get us a ride back to the airport after our vacation due to the headaches that we encountered. Thanks for a wonderful vacation at dreams.

Disappointing at best
By ,
Thi9is was the second visit for our expanded family of 16. Last year there were problems with promised amenities but in general service and the food was okay except for the special New Years dinner which was inedible! This year the food was consistent and I mean consistently of poor quality particularly the meat dishes, which were either tough, dry and stringy, or mostly fat with gristle. Room cleaning was hit or miss and sometimes did not take place until late afternoon. The sewage smell others have reported was not overwhelming but was there. Most of the staff was quite pleasant but I will never go there again.

Three Star Hotel
By ,
This hotel is classified as unlimited luxury hotel, however I would not say that. This hotel is three star hotel nothing more. The rooms are old and nasty. The room we stayed the TV did not work, the shower had was broken. There was mold around the shower. The food was bad, not a lot of variety to chose from. The service was bad also you had to wait a while until they would ask what you want for a drink. The amount I paid for this hotel was not worth the money.

Resort hold your money
By ,
On November 19,2011 I and my wife came in Dreams Tulum resort , At the resort reception I was told to give them my credit and after that a receptionist did withdrawal for $400 . I didn't sign it and insisted to cancel the transaction. The front desk manager Rolando Gamboa told me this is Dream Resorts international practice to take money from their customers in advance. I've had never heard about that. Our vacation was started from the big frustration. Next time I've used my credit card paying for tours with "Traffic Tour" representative in the resort having name Willy. The result of paying thru my credit card in the resort were 15 fraud transactions I found out when I came back in New York.

What an awful place. Go elsewhere.
By ,
Where to begin? We stayed at this "all-inclusive" as part of a wedding package for a good friend of ours. From the get-go, it was pretty disappointing. We typically don't travel in the all-inclusive Mexico circuit, but based on this experience, I'd rather spend money elsewhere. Firstly, upon arrival $5000 worth of camera equipment was stolen. The hotel did nothing. Absolutely nothing. Then we were "given" a USD$200 credit to our account as part of the incentive for booking through the wedding party travel agent. Of course, that was not real. We were asked to pay it all back before checking out. We spent more that $500 on activities while at the "all-inclusive". The food was bland and far below 5-star standards, and the supposed 24-hours of service had pretty ridiculous stipulations. Other issues that make for it being a gigantic rip-off - Mexican people hate waiting on dumb Americans, plain and simple. They RARELY smiled, and were hardly genuine. The room was dirty, the phone didn't work, there were tons of mosquitos already in the room, and there was blood stains on the fake marble floors. Unbelievable.

Disappointed
By ,
Well it was my 8th time going to Mexico and I've been waiting all year to go back. So my faimly and 6 others got the trip through Apple Vacations like we have previous years. So after we landed we took the Apple shuttle van to the resort which is over an hour long, but we had beer so whatever. We arrived and checked in and it was all down hill from there. The second we got checked in we were told to sit with some poeple in nice cloths and talk with them. We soon realized they were time-share salesmen, so we suffered through thier talk and walked away. Then we went to check out the place and it looked pretty nice, but we wanted to chenge into our beach cloths, but our bags never got delivered to our rooms. Plus we upgraded rooms to master suites, which were fine but the bath tub was stained and nasty and one light fixture had bare wires showing, IN THE BATHROOM. So we then ate one of the worst meals we've ever had at the World Cafe and thats when my dad's blood preasure started to sky-rocket! So pissed off, we went to the rooms, but still no bags, wtf? We went to the lobby and drug them down the stairs and too our rooms. We changed into swimming suits and went for alcohol before my dad choked someone. The booze was high end mexican/american/canadian which was a plus. So after these events we just drank and tried to make the best of our first day. The next 6 days of our trip we realized the food was awful except at the Seaside Grill. Which was fantastic and should of been the standard for all the restaurants. The service/staff were really good, and the room service was nice too. The beach was dirty but thats more of mother natures fault because of all the weeds washed up (that might just be a march thing). The pool and activities were good, but they must only have a 10 song playlist because its the same music every single day. The after-supper theater shows wern't half-bad compared to other resorts we've been to. But I'm a 20 year old single guy who wants to party at the disco, which was ok, if more then 10 people showed up, and good luck with that. All day I looked forward to the disco so I could party and dance with people my age, and it never really happened. I had a blast last year at the disco and this one was a ghost town, which was my personal biggest disappointment. So basicly there was no night-life at this resort, which I think was the lack of advertisement, because I ask alot of girls if they were going and they knew nothing about it or where it was. Me and my faimly all agreed that this was far from a 6 Apple resort and we've stayed at 4 apple resorts that could run circles around this one. So to sum this place up, it's not a 6 Apple or even close, you could save money by staying at a nicer 5 or 4 apple resort and be way happier and not to mention actually eat good food. So did I hate this vacation? No, because it's still mexico and the beutiful landscape and ocean made up for it, not to mention some pina coladas! I just got back and I'm already missing it, Mexico, not the resort. ;)

Perfect Resort!

Just got back from Dreams Tulum and loved this place! Excellent service, terrific food, large rooms and spotless everywhere. Felt like royalty, the staff couldn't do enough for us. Would go back again in a heartbeat.

Do not Recommend at all!
By ,
We stayed there for 5 days in July 2008. First the room smells damp and musty all the time. We had a big crack in our bathroom sink and the shower handle comes off. AVOID staying on first floor rooms, my husband left his timberland trunks out to dry, gone the next day. Complained to mgmt. and was told they are a 5 star hotel, their staff don't steal, has to be the guests.

We talk about our tulum \" it is our vacation home\"
By ,
We went to Tulum in August 2007 and it was the best trip I have ever had. The staff was wonderful, they new who you were and remembered the small things. I would recommend this place for anyone. The water was beautiful and the hotel was being worked on but, we understood construction has to take place sometime but, we were so thrilled with the resort that it did not bother us. The food is great. We went deep sea fishing and the chef prepared our fish so beautiful for us and it was wonderful. It was a memory I will always have. We can't wait to go back with the times America is facing with economy we know it won't probally be until 2011 but, it will happen and I wouldn't pick anywhere else to go.

Dreams Tulum - Great Place for a get away.
By ,
We stayed at Dreams Tulum for one week in early June. The rooms were nice by Mexico Hotel standards. AC worked 24 hrs a day. The facility is very well kept and clean. The beach is nice except that like so much of the coast the water area is rocky due to the damage from Hurricane Roxann in 1995. The only poor spot was that they failed to inform people on the web site that during the off season there are not the 7 resturants open but usually on 2 for lunch and dinner and only one (World Cafe) for breakfast. The overall food quality was just good. Lack on a large variety of Mexican cuisine was diappointing. The staff make this resort a big plus, they were pleasant and any request was taken care of promptly. Overall it was a very good experience. We rented a car but if you have a large group or family it is not necessary. Dreams has several private carrier and taxi contcts that will take you places cheap. Dreams to Tulum ruins is about a $5.00 cab fare. A large van (14 passenger) can be chartered for $150.00/day to take your group to the COBA ruins (about 45 miles away but a must see) they will even stop by one of the conote pools for a great snorkle cool down after the ruins.
