They Ruined our Ball
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/09/09
The service provided by the staff at the Wingate was awful. They served the food cold, the bar service was awful, and all around the service was just the worst. Never ever ever book something there.

Excellent Experience
By marypie, 01/16/07
This is a clean, friendly hotel with a heated pool and comfortable, spacious rooms. It also has a complete exercise room. We had two double beds, a refrigerator and microwave. There is on-site laundromat facilities as well. A wireless hook-up for the internet is available and free hook-up for laptop. I feel that a good hotel experience can make or break a trip and this one made our stay a positive experience. Nice breakfast items are included in your nightly rate. I recommend this hotel.

great place to stay
By ken, 04/18/06
We stayed at this hotel on the way to myrtle beach for spring break. Our stay was so enjoyable that we booked it for the return trip when we checked out. The only drawback was the double beds seemed small, but the rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable. the front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. there is a perkins and pizza shop within walking distance, and ther is a gas station on the corner. it is very close to I95 however you cannot hear the traffic. the indoor pool and hottub were very enjoyable. and breakfast was the the regular stuff, but thet had homemade waffles as well...a nice touch was complimentary chocolate chip cookies on the front desk and coffee in the evening. free newspaper, and HBO. I would and did stay here again...it was a little more expensive than the other hotels around $105, but I had no complaints and the kids were happy, that makes it worth it in my book.

Everything we expected...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/05
Stayed here in late July 2005 at just under $100/night. My experience was very good. Most importantly, the room was clean, larger than expected, tastefully decorated, comfortable and quiet. Simple as it sounds--how often do you find a hotel that hits all those basics perfectly? Everything else was satisfactory. Customer service was fine, the continental breakfast was reasonable, the mini-kitchen was a nice touch. The shower had an adjustable massage head. The only possible downside is the location, which--while isolated on its own street--is basically in the middle of a dreary commercial strip. It's about five miles from the charming downtown district. I would definitely stay here again.

Horrible Customer Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/05
This hotel has the WORST possible customer service I have ever seen in my life, anywhere. Although the hotel itself is average, the attitudes of the staff make a stay here frustrating. I've never encountered such a rude staff. The only person we came into contact with that was sweet and nice was the maid and she didn't even speak english...but she was the only shinning light in the entire establishment.

Excellent place to stay while in the area !!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/01/05
Front desk staffing always helpful and courteous. A vast array of choices for breakfast, that is always served fresh. You wouldn't be disappointed.
