a disappointment

The physical space in the lobby is great, as is the independently operated "Town" restaurant. But the rooms are clutterd, dirty, and worn. Worst, however, is the staff - or lack thereof. Imagine paying upwards of $500 per night at a hotel that does not have (and never had) a concierge. The young doomman, if there is one on duty, serves sort of as the concierge ... and will be glad to steer you to any number of characterless dives affordable on a doorman's budget. Forget asking for anything beyond a lousy restaurant recommendation. Actually, the doormen are perfectly good guys, but this just should not be their job, and they do not do it effectively. This is just one example among many of the totally amatuerish "service" in all respects.
