front desk staff could care less

pool was not clean. room was big but not well kept. could have used a deep clean. front desk seemed upset that i bothered them when i called for information. long hold times and snarky attitudes!

Liked pretty much everything. No complaints. The room was clean and roomy. Staff was great and very accommodating. Went right after Christmas asked for connecting rooms and had no problem getting them. Hotel was quiet. Got a good nights sleep. Beds were comfortable. Very easy access to the city. Path train right outside hotel which you can then connect easily to the subway. Great rate! Will stay there again in the future!!!

Had a great time

The hotel was clean and very courteous staff. Right next to the PATH station to NY. Took my family to the Memorial Day weekend. Me and my son went to the Yankees game in the afternoon and it was very very convenient. In the evening, took a walk on the Newport Marina next door and the views were stunning. Valet parking is very nice and very reasonable. Definitely recommend for families.

Would stay there again!

I was nervous about staying in Jersey City....but the location is fantastic....took 5 minutes to get to Time Square via the subway. ($60 fare by taxi though) Mall across the street.

Good for Family

I probably recommend this hotel for families, but not for couples. The indoor pool was not so clean, and there were too many kinds. The room was spacious and I think it would be great for famlies.

Outstanding Service

Our family reserved several rooms to attend our son's college graduation in NYC. The staff was so helpful in arranging for our rooms to be near each other. Everyone from the front desk staff to housekeeping to the breakfast staff were very friendly and willing to please. We will return anytime we are in the NYC area.

So much for reasonable price

Proximity to NY is amazing. Rooms are always clean (stayed 4x already), pool is very clean and rare in these parts. Hotel staff is professional & prompt in replying to huests (we came w/a group and got 10 extra blankets/pillws w/in 10 minutes). Excellant place to stay- recommend it to anyone.

Great for visiting NYC

Even though this hotel is located in Jersey city it is literally next to tha PATH station which leaves you on 33rd street or th WTC perfect for any tourist checking out the NY attractions and avoiding the pricy manhattan hotels. If possible try and land at Newark airport if youre going by air since fare to LGA o JFK will cost approx. $80. The rooms were clean, friendly service, internet connection in room and lobby, located walking distance from newport mall, target, and lots of cafes, deli, UPS store, marina with great view on manhattan skyline.

Great Location

We live in rural Alaska and were making our first trip to the Big apple. I'm a planner and spent hours researching hotels. It's crazy! We settled on this hotel for the Marriott name and the price and crossed our fingers. When we made our reservations, we were given directions to the hotel from the Amtrack station. The directions were perfect. The Hotel was clean and in a lovely neighborhood with a variety of indoor/outdoor restaurants, ferry, subway, a mall, and riverwalk. Turned out it's smack in the middle of a new, "planned community". The bartender was just chatty enough that she got guests to mingle. Rooms were standard hotel rooms. Clean. We loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone. Take a stroll at night and look at the light of New York reflected on the river, or try the little italian restaurant at the end of the neighboring pier.

Great location and price

The Doubletree is what it is . . . a middle of the road, safe choice hotel. What it really has going for it is it's location near the PATH and light rail and especially it's price per night.In Spring 2005, the hotel began renovating their rooms, upgrading the beds and bedding in particular. My parents stay there when they come to visit, and they're always pleased with the service, value and location.
