Pleasantly surprised!
We have stayed in St. Augustine several times. This was the first time on the other side of the Bridge of Lions. All in all it wasn't bad, especially for what we paid. Most places on the other side of the bridge, in the city, were much more pricey. It wasn't fancy but good enough for our overnight stay. There is the noise from the road but once the air conditioner was on we didn't hear it. The Anastasia Inn is your typical old fashioned , small, family owned motel. The breakfast was sufficient, bagels, muffins, cereal, coffee and oj. Really more than we expected. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. It was also nice to have a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The bad part was going back over the bridge to go into the city. Twice we had to wait while the drawbridge was up to let a boat through. There was a considerable wait. This might be a consideration if you plan on staying on the other side of the Bridge of Lions. We would stay there again for an overnight visit to St. Augustine.
