One of the most exhausting visits ever!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/24/10
We've used this place many times, but those were the last.
After 12:30 pm you'd think there would be some kind of sound reduction. I was shocked by the activity in the hallway and next door to me. The in and out of rooms and ice machine are expected, to some extent. But the continous talking, laughing, and the lobby TV; by 5:15 I finally called the front desk. They sware the group was upstairs, but I saw the traffic when I peaked out my door at 2 am. At 5:55 I was checking out, worn out, very angry(not my typical mood), with business to attend after a 3 hr drive. I finally got my money back, after being made to feel I was hillucinating everything and the manager kept saying he couldn't understand what I was so upset about and that it took me tooooo long to complain. If I had called earlier, he said they would have moved me! ME???! Why me!???? I was there to sleep and got nothing. I offered to pay for my shower, but he thought that was a joke! So I demanded full payment and he said he would only give me $20 back. I told him this whole thing was crazy! It wasn't my job to take care of the motel. I don't go to cause trouble, but it just seemed to go on and on.
They felt I was exagerating the lobby TV and the ice machine. Apparently they have never spent much time in the 1st floor rooms, as the echo was not exceptable at all.
Someone set off the fire alarm in a room - I heard a man say, "I don't know what I did to make it go off!" (he was laughing) Well, duh! don't smoke in a nonsmoking room goofball!! (OH how I wanted to say that, but didn't want any confrontation, as I was traveling alone and there's no reason to upset folks.)
New mattresses are in order also! They're as hard as bricks and slide off the box spring. They are stained and although you try to cover them up, I really don't believe anyone should be sleeping on them. But appreciated the clean room; so it seemed. Unable to think clearly, I didn't even get a little breakfast before leaving. I drove around, as it was too dark to venture out, as tired as I was, until the sun came up! Exhausted, cold, and in that crazy feeling of NO SLEEP daze, I gave up, drove over to the WalMart parking lot and tried to rest, before driving to Kentucky. I was absolutely exhausted and was totally unsafe for driving in the dark. I cut my trip short because I was unable to tend to the business with the brain fog and returned home, two days early!
No - we won't be back. But thanks for an unforgettable night/morning/afternoon and finally the refund. I cannot believe I had to get so upset and out of sorts before something was important enough to call an owner that doesn't even live in the area for such problems. Quite convenient - you don't have to answer for the rude actions of your staff, an unhappy customer or your $20 back policy.
***I'm wondering if someone is covering for a "private" party that happened without the manager or owners knowledge. Maybe you have an employee taking advantage of the premises? They were next door. One woman and a few men.
