Best stay ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/12/11
This was our first trip to Erie and we where not familar with the area we took a room at a motel close to the island. After signing in we quickly relized we could not sleep one night in that place, we where literally thinking about sleeping in shifts to keep our family safe. We explained our situation to the Holiday Inn-and they accomodated for the night WONDERFUL STAFF......We where so relieved to have a clean comfortable place to spend the night and enjoy our visit with our family. Excellent service, staff, rooms and breakfast can't speak highly enough. We will deffinatly go for a return stay....

We all had a great time!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/25/10
We stayed at this hotel and it was wonderfull; our room (the kids suite)had a large shower/bathtub, bunk beds for the kids and a super comfy queen bed! The breakfast was awesome and the service was great! We went to Splash Lagoon as well and were equally pleased! I would definately come back!

Loved it!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/7/09
We loved are stay at the hotel not only is it great if your going to the water park but it is also in a great location if you want to go to the marinas, its a very short and easy drive. The room was very nice with a HUGE tub and tons of towels! It was very clean and they had a nice breakfast. We will be staying again!

Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/22/09
Room size was nice size, but dirty! Ripped material on couch + furniture covers and floors filthy! No hot water most of the stay! Ppl. filling up the hot tubs after splash lagoon closes-which require a ridiculous amount of water, yet they have signs hanging asking you to re-use your towels to conserve on laundry soap (trying to be green?)!!?? What about the water? We were told to let it run a while & hot water will eventually come thru--I think half an hour was long enough-still no hot water! If you put a sign out to leave your room un-touched, they come in anyway!!! For $157 and $117 we paid for 4 nts. w/varying rates this is ridiculous! Never Again!!!

A Business Traveler's Perspective
By Darren, 9/4/08
As a business traveler on a 2-week stay, I'll point out pros and cons. Pros: Free delivery from all the Scott-owned restaurants nearby. Big, roomy suite with jacuzzi tub, mini-kitchen, and desk standard. TV channels offered rivals the nearby Courtyard. Breakfast is pretty good, but show up early to find food items not handled by children. Bed is fantastic. Room's climate control is digital and feels 'just right'. Good vending machines (food & drink) rivals the Courtyard's annoying self-serve grocery. Bathroom far less claustrophobic than Courtyard's. Room is well lit. TV actually returns to the last channel and volume level you were on when you turn it back on, rather than blasting you with max-volume hotel pay movie advertisements (like Courtyard). Cellular coverage is good. Cons: It can take 30 mins to get hot water going on the 5th floor. No lie. Either account for this in your morning routine, or get a room on a low floor. Building is crawling with screaming, wet kids from the attached water park. Hotel views overlooks water park employee's nasty break areas. Parking lot is tiny and filled with water park patrons -- parking is a challenge. Internet connectivity is highly variable, and often won't let VPN clients connect. Exercise room not as nice as Courtyard's -- fewer, poorer equipment, and you're essentially on display to the lobby. The noise -- both from the screaming children and the water park employees on break under your window -- settles down after midnight. Get a room at the end of the hall to avoid child noise. Get a room that faces front to avoid noise from water park employees on break. Some mornings I'd get a USA Today, some mornings not. Matter of Annoyance: On your sink, you'll find a "Hospitality Promise" right next to the sign telling you how much you'll be charged if you steal any towels. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling every time I stand there and brush my teeth and have to look at it. The housekeepers often don't restock your room with the same number of towels they remove for cleaning -- thus making you wonder if you're going to find a special charge on your bill. I wasn't so charged, but it bugged me. It made me feel like I was in a Best Western Motel and the year was 1978. I wasn't impressed with the housekeeping in general. The remains of last night's dinner delivery, even if placed in, on, or next to the trash cans, often weren't cleared. Beds look like they'd be slept in even after they were 'made'. Things just seemed to be left in a mess. The place just didn't feel super 'clean' to me, but maybe I'm being picky. Summary: For business travelers, I'd put the place on-par with the equally imperfect nearby Courtyard. At either hotel, you're going to get the indifferent Scott-trained staff, and your stay will be 85% right with a handful of annoying issues that a little attention to detail could overcome. This hotel's big problem for our kind is that it mostly caters to families destined for the water park, and you have to factor this into your calculus. I was fairly happy with my stay and would stay again.

Great with only one exception
By Tina, 3/23/08
Beware of the "free continental breakfast" included. We got to the breakfast area at around 8:45 am and there was literally a line way down the hall. We waited a good 25 minutes. ANYBODY could have gotten breakfast there (since in was attached to Splash Lagoon) because none of the hotel staff were checking for the legitimacy of guests. Everything else was great. It was clean. Staff was friendly. The value was fabulous (we paid slightly more than $200/night for a room with a kitchenette, firplace, 3 separate rooms, 2 bathrooms, could sleep 10 comfortably).

Enjoyable stay.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/05
Our family was happy with this hotel stay. Our room was big, clean & nicely decorated. Plush towels, large jacuzzi tub, clean kitchenette, even extra comforters in closet. Nothing was overlooked. Shopping & restuarants are conveniently located nearby. It is attached to Splash Lagoon which could make it busier in the summer peak season.

Not bad!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/8/05
The only thing good about this hotel is that it's directly connected to Splash Lagoon. We were moved 3 times from room to romm the first two days because they overbooked for the week we went (first week in August 2004).
