Best motel in San Benito???

We checked in here because we were told this was the best motel in San Benito. We were very unimpressed with the room's cleanliness as there were cobwebs in the ceiling corners and when we pulled the bed covers back on one of the beds we discovered a large beetle type bug in between the sheet and the bedspread (thank goodness it was dead). We checked out early and got a room on Padre Island for only $10 more at the Holiday Inn Express, which was much nicer. When I went to check out I could not find anyone on duty for over an hour -- I assume that the clerk's shift ended and he or she just left without any relief coming in to replace him/her. All in all, I won't stay here again.

Everything was pretty good. Good location and easy to find. Especially liked the continental breakfast. Also, beds were quite comfortable. Only problem was the outdoor whirlpool. The jet power was on, but the water wasn't heated...not even warm. It was the same temperature as the cold water in the swimming pool.
