Never again !
By Laura, 01/23/09
My daughter got locked in the bathroom because there was no door knob on the inside of the door. Heat did not work and it was 20 degrees outside that day. We stayed 1 hour and left. Manager refused refund.

DO NOT STAY HERE!
By Cat, 09/07/08
Do not ever stay here! I booked this hotel b/c my friend had booked it already and said it was "better" than all the other ones she looked at. Without doing any research myself, I also booked. We were there with a bunch of friends Labor Day Weekend for the Rib Fest. Thank goodness we only stayed 1 night. When we drove into the parking lot, I was like "OMG!" I wanted to leave already. Stood in like for 30 min just to check in! There was a line out the door. I don't know why.... maybe b/c there was only 1 guy at the counter. Some people came in with their confirmation and the hotel guy said they weren't in the system. I wanted to give them our room and go somewhere else. But my bf said to just stay b/c its Labor Day Weekend and it would probably be hard to find another place at a decent price. The lobby was so small and dumpy. I was like "this is the breakfast area"??? I would not want to eat there. After check in, we went to our room on the 4th floor. The 1 elevator was so slow and old. The buttons didn't even light up so we didn't even know if it was working. When we got into our room, I looked around and was so disgusted. It was small and old looking. The "closet" was an old wooden box in the corner. The AC was working but looked broken. There was a flying type insect on the wall. The bathroom was even more disgusting. The sink was rusted and cracked. The bathtub was so nasty. I took a shower with my flip-flops on. They didn't even have a fridge. I thought it was at least have a fridge. At least they had a blow dryer. But it was so dirty with yellow and brown stains on it, I didn't even use it! Then the next morning I went to get the free continental breakfast. First, the lobby area is so small, 3 people already filled it up and everyone else had to bring their food to their rooms. The breakfast area was so packed only b/c it was so small. You stood there waiting for other people to get their food before you can start. They had bananas, apple, cereal, bread, bagels, little muffins, coffee, and juice. I got cereal, it was so sweet I couldn't eat it. I was going to get wheat bread but an old guy was in front me getting a tray of food and had his hands all in the wheat bread. So I just got some orange juice, which was probably the only decent thing there. On the way back up to my room, I met a lady in the elevator who had a disgusted look on her face. She said to me "I can't stand this place!" I said "Me too, I'm glad I'm leaving today." I was so glad to get out of that place. I will never stay at a hotel without doing research first. I am willing to pay a little more just to stay somewhere clean. I have learned my lesson.

disgusting, will never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/25/08
I had prepaid for 2-rooms without checking the ratings. Learned from this experience to check the ratings first. Our rooms were on the 3rd floor that had a terrible stench like rotten red beets, hallway and room carpeting were worn and dirty, rooms smelled old, beds looked dirty, we did not dare lay our baby on the bed, rooms were cold, heaters were falling apart. We did not stay in the rooms any more than 5-7 minutes. When I asked for a refund, I was told I would be charged for both rooms even though we did not as much as sit on the beds or use the bathrooms. I was not about to bed my grandchildren in such filty rooms, we did not stay long enough to notice if they had tubs or only showers in the rooms. The smell did not allow us to stay that long. As we were in Reno for the basketball tournaments, we were checking into the rooms close to 11:00 pm,and ended up checking into a more suitable hotel after midnight. No way, will I ever return to the Travelodge in Reno, nor do I recommend it to anyone else. Especially if you have small children.

scary stay in reno 2007
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/07
the travelodge was dirty , scary, and stunk . the elevater creeked and growned up and down.there breakfast was really bad. the people that lived at this place got to eat before the any one else did. the only handycap parking space was taken up by a employs car that did not have a sticker on it.the people in charge of the front desk were rude. there computer was always being used by the same person(who was always looking up his my space).we quit smoking 6 years ago , when we left this place we both felt like we never quit at all. the only good thing about are stay was that they had a nice shuttle driver.

Dissatisfied & won't return.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/18/07
Disgusting. We paid top dollar for a horrible room. Smoke detector not operating, sink in kitchen leaking water on electrical microwave, floor torn up, furniture damaged, A/C unit falling apart and broken, lights broken, windows wouldn't close, tin foil covering plates on stove... On and On and On... Scary place... I won't go back.

We have been travelling for last 24 days staying at various hotels and our stay at Travelodge was among the best experience we had. Ni ce comfy room at a fair price. Liked the piece and the changes from our last stay here in 2005.taff was great.

Comfy Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/28/07
Very impressed with the service. Check-in was very quick, pretty helpful when you have kids with you. 24 hr fresh hot coffee was a hit with my wife. We had left a piece of Jewellery behind, oops, and one phone call got it back to us. Will definitely be staying there again.

DIRTY
By kim, 03/26/07
No Parking, Dirty, Rude Service, Smelly. Jacuzzi broken (just a hole in the ground). Breakfast was very scary. Heater was missing parts. Desk clerk was on the phone (personal call) and took for ever to get to me. Told my children to get out of the way. I have emailed the company and no one from this location has gotten a hold of me.

Got Fleas?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/25/06
I stayed at the Reno Travelodge for two nights at the end of June, 2006. While the location was excellent for my purposes, the cleanliness, sanitation and the subsequent Travelodge response leave much to be desired. After my second and last night of sleep at the Reno Travelodge, my arms, face and neck were full of bites and they were not present before my sleep. I suspect fleas and so did my dermatologist. If I was to stay a third night I would have surely checkout and found other accomodations. Most disappointing was the response to my complaints from Reno Travelodge and Travelodge corporate. Rather, there was no response to my complaints. In my complaints I was not looking for any compensation, only that the situation be remedied and that future customers at the Reno Travelodge are spared the trouble and medical costs I went through. As a result of this experience, I will stay at a Travelodge establishment only at a last resort.

STAYED LONG TERM *GREAT*
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/25/05
I STAYED 40 NIGHTS AT THIS MOTEL FOR BUSINESS REASONS. MAIN REASON WAS HIGH SPEED INTERNET, THIS WAS EXCELLENT AND SUPERFAST, AND THE SYSTEM NEVER CRASHED. I WAS OVERLY IMPRESSED. I ENJOYED THE CONTINENTAL BREAKFEAST. THE MAIDS, FRONT DESK PEOPLE WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND CURTIOUS. AND A.J. THE GENERAL MANAGER IS A GREAT HE IS VERY HELPFUL GUY. HE GOES BEYOND HIS JOB. WILL COME BACK WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING AT OTHERS.
