FILTHY rooms and worthless staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/8/06
I checked into this hotel in Metairie, LA on a business trip and my room was horriffic.
toilet was dirty with urine and feces, hair in the tub and the carpet had not been vacuumed. The headboards are vinyl and there was dried cum crusted on it.
The sheets had dark short body hair on them and were imprinted with wrinkles from where someone had been on them.
The glasses in the bathroom were filthy and had been apparently wiped out with a wet wash cloth after the previous person used them and were put back to be used. You could see the fibers of the cloth, water stains, finger prints and lip marks. Just some advice, NEVER USE THE GLASSES IN THE HOTEL ROOMS.
I called the front desk around 10:30 at night to tell them that I needed another room and this one had not been cleaned. They told me to come down to the front desk so i packed up my stuff and went to the lobby. The front desk person was rude and unconcerned and offered no emotion but was more irritated to have to be dealing with my problem.
The next day I asked the manager, Daniel McDonald to meet me in the room so I could show him what was wrong and all the problems. He told me that he had things going on and wouldn't have time but they would look into it.
After much persuasion and anger, he agreed to meet me in the room. After I pointed out each and everything that I had seen he told me that "Apparently Wyndham could not meet my demands and if it was him, he would never stay at another Wyndham again...."
This??? from a manager of a hotel and because the room was not clean???
I called Wyndham corporate and filed a report with their customer service and never got a call or heard back at all. NOTHING ! ! !
I even used a white wash cloth to wipe down the counter area around the sink and produced dust, dirt, coffee, hair, etc. and he refused to look at it. I then cleaned the floor with that same washcloth and gathered MUCH FILTH showing how many times this room had not been cleaned.
This filthy, unsanitary situation did not occur with only one missed cleaning, it required months of neglect and poor management to get to this point.
Most importantly, with hard, solid evidence of failure, the manager didn't want to be bothered with looking and corporate has yet to ever respond.
This company continually fails to meet the basic standards of any hotel and they offer amenities to their return guests that they do not deliver.
