Hotel Las Palapas, Playa del Carmen Centro

All the amenities,very helpful and friendly employees beautiful grounds and the food was excellent. Really nice beach and walking distance to all downtown shopping and other hotels and restaurants.

We had a Cabana just in front of the beach, first row, and this was absolutely great! Also the breakfast and the calm was excellent, a place to relax. The cleaning happend every day at a different time and we had to ask 4 times for a frige in the room.

Just got back from Las Palapas. Great place, blah blah blah. Important news is it will not close until August 2008! So you all have 8 more months to sample the best location on the best beach in PDC.

The location is amazing, the stuff is very nice with a promt service. The beach was awesome, very quiet and perfect to take a nap. We will come back next year..

It was a breath of fresh air the way Mexico "used to be". Stepping onto this property after one whirlwind week in Cancun, I was struck by instant tranquility, solitude and relaxation. Swiss run, like a fine timepiece and as exotic as you could ask for with jungle trails and a fabulous beach with NO peddlers. Topless is allowed here in the European tradition and the fine meals of healthy and eye-appealing arrangements, the staff was truly welcoming and accommodating in every way. European guests tend to value their privacy so there were no loud voices in the meal room but do not expect to find your next best friend here. Perfect get-away for a couple escaping the stresses of home life. The ONLY problem is that it is sadly closing its doors come January 2008 to be replaced by yet another high rise desecrating the once lovely coastline. Take advantage of this paradise now!

We went in Oct. 2007 and LOVED it. There were a lot of Europeans and it had an international feel. The room don't have TV so plan on relaxing and unwinding. Perfect distance to downtown PDC. Call the hotel directly to book travel to and from airport...we found it was about $30 cheaper. Try and get up at least one morning to see the sunrise...with Cozumel in the distance, don't be surprised when you see a crowd along the beach this early.

Outstanding bar in close proximity to the beach, Strog drinks, excellent breakfast buffet, well kept up property showing little hurricane damage. friendly staff. Perfect White sand, clean cool pool. We'll be back.
