Harrah's Cherokee, Cherokee

I've always been pleased The many times I have been(especially with the staff) weather I was a Gold member or Diamond -. although The Jack Pots used to be better and more frequent back before construction! Draw back for me is it's almost a six hour drive. The free junkets they offer to Atlantic City and Tunica are from the airport about 10 miles from me.

i hit the the jackpot the first hour i was there playing slots i went there to gamble and totally enjoyed the experience i loved the people who were there and the smoking was a non issue to all the whiners out there and u no who u r i hope i never come in contact with u go bring somebody else down u miserable poor no fun had here souls

This place SUCKS.. people who work there say that n.c. "TAX" people told them to "tighten" up there machines while they improve the casino ! if you want to lose your $$$ and walk a 1/2 mile from your room to it then this is the place for you !

The casino was nice and the rooms were really nice; the staff was friendly and being that I am a non-smoker, the over all smoking experience wasn't too bad, a few times did get a bit rough though. Prepare to walk a lot, the layout was very spacious to say the least. Casino Payouts were virtually non-existent; people were wining just not you. Best advice is to stay away from the slots and stick to the tables which are electronic now, no cards... boo. The worst part though was the fact that all their is to do is gamble; do not go if your looking for a night out, unless you consider a night out fishing or McDonald's. This place was a ghost town, nothing to do what so ever in any direction for 2 hours, and I mean absolutely nothing at all, no restaurants, no shopping (Unless your in the market for tomahawks and moccasins), no fun what so ever. I figure that the nature walks might be fun but if its raining your out of luck. Also don't count on the scenery because your starring at the side of a mountain, construction sites, and trailer parks the whole time. Probably will never go back unless something drastically changes with the town, which is on an indian reservation, so probably want. PS. Don't even think about drowning your sorrows either... NO free drinks, with all the revenue they are bringing in you would think that Harrah's would help intoxicate you so you could forget how much money your losing.

My wife and i had a great time there the room was big and the staff was very nice.The casino wasn't real smokey the food was good i will be going back.

Poor cust, service, poor ventilation, poor payouts. The biggest reason to not visit this place, no medical staff on duty. Witnessed patron suffer heart attack at slots....duh on employees faces, No EMT etc. Will never visit this place again, I pray that person lived.

Like all Harrahs properties in Atlantic City, Vegas,Biloxi, New Orleans...you ,must pay for a drink..no free beer wine or mixed drinks...

It has been 3 trips now to the beautiful Harrahs Cherokee Hotel. We have had a wonderful experience all 3 times we have gone. The rooms are nice and large, the staff is top notch friendly, and we plan to return there soon as we can get away again. I am not a smoker but I had no problem at the casino or the hotel. I kind of like the whole casino experience, and seeing people smokers and non smokers alike being able to enjoy this casino and hotel together made me feel good. I think the complaints about the smoky atmosphere are unwarranted. If you want a smoke free environment, don't plan a trip to a casino atmosphere where people who do smoke are allowed. I think there are not many places left for them to go now, and it felt good to see them enjoying themselves and not being treated like criminals. They were treated with the same respect as we were, and that was good to see. I think that if you are an extremist when it comes to smoke, a casino hotel and the casino itself is still a great get-away, and if it bothers you to have people smoking, just take a nice hike instead of going into a casino. It comes with the environment in a casino. I have hit good jackpots 2 out of the 3 times we have gone there as well! It was comfortable, clean, friendly, and a great experience. The only small complaint would be that there is not free WiFi, but with so many things to do around there that was not really a problem, we didn't miss it that much. We could have gotten it had we really wanted it by paying for it. (I am used to free service though). With the jackpots we hit,and the whole experience we had while there, I have to say that it is some of the most exciting times we have had on get-aways. It does bother me to see complaints though by some of the people who complain about smoke in a CASINO! A casino is not the place for such complainers. Not just this one. We really had no problems in this one like we had anticipated from some of the reviews we had read. The ventilation system must be a good one. We truly enjoyed seeing everyone having a good time together, and we had a good time too. Smokers, have a good time! You can't go to many places now and have this wonderful experience, so go and enjoy. Non smokers, go and enjoy as well, because it is really not a bad experience like some people write about. It is good all the way around. The whole casino experience will be complete when we can get mixed drinks later this year, and we can't wait. Just a wonderful environment all the way around! Gambling, drinks, smokers, non-smokers, winning, losing, lights, music, friendliness, safety, quiet hotel, roomy and beautiful all at the same time. Live it up and enjoy! We will be back.... and enjoying it all. If it bothered me to sit near or beside someone who was smoking, I would say it did, but they are on top of it here, and we enjoyed it so very much. No kidding, we enjoyed seeing everyone be able to enjoy it. There is lots to do in Cherokee too, so don't hesitate!

What a great hotel. All was exceptionally well with the room and the staff was more than gracious. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we had all we needed.

As with all Harrah's hotels we have stayed in, the room was quite nice, plush and comfortable. However, I have smoke allergies and cannot tolerate sleeping in rooms permeated with cigarette smoke. When we arrived to check in, I was informed that there were no nonsmoking rooms left. After complaining rather "vigorously" (I had booked over 2 months in advance), a room suddenly appeared, though @ 8pm it had still not been cleaned. With all that said, once we were finally checked in the room was nice. Surely if Harrah's Cherokee consistently runs out of nonsmoking rooms it would clue someone that that need to designate additional nonsmoking rooms? Oh, and the nonsmoking casino is an insult-why not just put us in a basement, or a hallway, or a broom closet? Believe it or not, I am giving it another shot-it's hard to beat comp. for a price. I'll keep you posted, maybe they are learning!
