Love it!
By ,
Don't know what else to say. I've stayed at 5 different hotels in downtown Vancouver and Opus is by far the best. The staff are wonderful and really make you feel special and care about your stay. They're always offering to assist with reservations or activities or whatever. I also love Yaletown. Its a really cool part of Vancouver with a great selection of restaurants and boutique shops. I'd live there... If i could afford it!

Opus a Gem
By ,
I got a chance to stay at the Opus hotel for a couple of days with some friends. We had two rooms, so I managed to get a peek at the various rooms which were offered. The hotel decorates each room with different colour themes, which are very trendy and modern looking. Our rooms had sufficient space, and were quite comfortable. The bathrooms were immaculately clean, which was a bonus, because some hotels do not clean them very well. The only downside to the washrooms was the sliding doors which were more like a partition than a door. They didn't really allow for a lot of privacy. Both of the rooms we had had washroom windows which overlooked the street, so we could see people walking past. It was really nice in the mornings and at night. The hotel staff was really friendly and helpful always greeting us as we came and left. I wasn't particularly impressed with the lobby, it was rather small, but there was a lounge area where we were able to purchase drinks. The Opus is rather pricey, and has become particularly popular for celebrities who are in town filming or visiting. So, don't be suprised if you see one. Overall, great stay.

A dream anniversary get away
By ,
In our hectic, everyday life it is a huge treat to get away for ultra luxurious getaway, even if that getaway is only overnight! My husband was lucky enough to receive a one night stay at the Opus Hotel in Vancouver. He treated us on our anniversary. There is nothng like leaving suburbia and arriving at a chic, hip hotel where you are treated like royalty. Iced champagne and 'goodies' were waiting in our room and we had been upgraded too! The room was incredible, the bed and bathroom to die for! I felt like a rock star! The staff were friendly and courteous. Our breakfast the next morning was delicious. I definitely did not want to get in our car and return to our work-a-day world. Thank you everyone at Opus Hotel for a memorable 27th anniversary.

No room
By ,
I made reservations at the Opus for my husband's birthday. I made them a couple months in advance and made dinner reservation in Yaletown, so that we could walk to dinner and try this new hotel. We travel to Vancouver from Seattle about 3 to 4 times a year and I thought it would be fun to try a new area and hotel. We had reservations for Saturday and Sunday evening. I made the reservations on the internet and had an upgraded room with a king bed ($380.00 per night). We arrived to be told that they did not have that room for us but could give us a lesser room with a queen bed. I had made these plans for a celebration weekend and we have not slept in a queen bed for the last 20 years. We declined. We then were offered a room in another hotel ( at Opus expense) for one night and we were to return to Opus Sunday evening. We also declined, as I did not want to unpack and return to a different room for the next night. We ended up at the Four Seasons in a large suite with 2 bathrooms, a living room and a king bed for less than our room at the Opus. We travel a lot and I have never been asked to downgrade a room. I also had received a confirmation on Friday the day before we left for Vancouver. We will never return to the Opus and we are amazed that they are so poorly managed that they have deal with reservations in this manner. It may be "hip" but waiting in the lobby while they tried to figure out what to do with us, was humiliating. Vancouver has too many fine, service oriented hotels to settle for the Opus.

Martini's and Lime Green Walls
By ,
I stayed at the Opus for work and managed to sneak my way into a tour of 4 of their funky rooms. Choose between green, blue, red or yellow walls. My favourite room, which I ended up staying in, had the bathroom on the outside window wall so I could watch the shoppers below while brushing my teeth. The staff know the true meaning of the word service and I loved drinking martinis while waiting in the lobby.

Nice hotel
By ,
Stayed overnight last year. The hotel staff were friendly. The bathroom is fantastic we really want to get the heated floors installed in our bathroom now. We had the courtyard view room, was nice but small and felt like a NY hotel in that sense. Not convinced it was worth the price for the courtyard, perhaps if you stayed there during summer, we were there during winter.

Five stars ain't enough, you guys...
By ,
I loved the fact that I could "fit in" (sometimes 5 star hotel facilities look at you differently because you don't wear Gucci glasses or expensive jewlery...!). Well, I was coming to shoot and was dressed very casually, and it did not seem to bother your crew! Au contraire. I so much appreciated the fact that my calls (and I called often, I had a lot of questions and requests) were not only welcomed, but I never felt I was bothering anyone, or that my requests were complicated, which was really nice. I truly cannot wait to come back (and I will in 2005 for sure) and take the same suite for a whole week... without coming for work, so that I can enjoy and visit. Thank you all so very much, once again. PS: All of you over there who took such good care of me so dilligently, give yourselves a good hug... when I was shooting while staying at your amazing hotel, apparently I did such a good job that I'm getting nominated for an international award for "best comedic performance in a commercial". All of you have contributed to this, in one way or the other, by making my stay so pleasant that I had no choice but to give all my best and give a very good performance... Congrats on amazing team work ... and hats on to you all at Opus! See you in 2005! The eternally grateful Claire Jacques, Montreal, QC.
