Great Place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/01/10
could use a technology upgrade...but a beautiful room and great breakfast. The only issue we had was street noise.

Bullcrap
By bobby, 04/23/09
The staff discriminated against me based on the color of my skin. They told me they had a special room for my kind (the closet). They made me pay a large deposit and then refused to refund it at the end of my stay.

Fantastic hotel, fantastic service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/31/08
I stayed at this hotel for several weeks during a work assignment. The staff here is really friendly and helps to give the place a really personal touch. The rooms are really huge and some even have fireplaces. As a skeptical visitor to this town, I was thoroughly pleased and impressed with this hotel - it's cleanliness, the staff, and the fitness facilities. Some other pluses include: free internet (wireless), premium cable channels, and if you absolutely have to raid the minibar, it's very well stocked with lots of choices in wine and spirits. Con: this hotel does not have a restaurant/kitchen, they do offer room service, they source it out to a few local restaurants. The downside is you can't order room service after 8:30 pm. So if you work late and rely on room service when you get back - you'll be out of luck. But overall this is a terrific place, two hearty thumbs up, would definitely recommend it!

If you looking for a quiet hotel get away with out kids this is the place to go. Friendly staff and outstanding housekeeping keep me going back each year for our anniversary and we live right here in DSM.

OK hotel in small town
By Thomas M, 07/29/07
Hotel was fine. Reasonably clean. Lobby was very dark. Lobby bar open late (this was a plus). Limited mobile phone reception. Likely the most upscale hotel in DSM.

Terrific hotel, probably best in Iowa, but pricey
By Phil, 08/20/06
We just returned from a one-night stay in a corner fireplace suite (about $275 plus tax), room 311. The room was very large, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was huge, with whirlpool tub and glass/marble shower. It may not be saying much to say this is the best hotel in Des Moines (probably in Iowa) but if you find yourself in Des Moines needing a place to stay and don't have to stay somewhere cheap, this is your best choice. See my photos of the lobby and our room.

Nice place can't wait to go back...
By jeff, 03/05/06
The Hotel service was great and even the staff are all very friendly. We choose the deluxe room and it looks nice and smells great. The rest room are clean with paper towel and tissue on it, the bedsheet and comforter feels great and comfortable. The package they offer for us includes a free daily breakfast and a one time dinner buffet. We stay there for a couple of days and for sure me and my wife would go back coz we are satisfied for the service.
