Marquis Villas Resort, Palm Springs

No major complaints. We enjoying staying here for mini vacations. I would suggest plastic cups to take down by the pool and NEW lounging chairs are needed by the pool. We had to check about 15 chairs before we could find one that wasn't broken. Can't understand why you keep the chairs by the pool if they're broken???????

EVVERYTHING WAS ALL WRONG THE BEDS EXTREMELY LUMPY, EVEN THE PULL OUT ITS A BIG RIPOFF THE INTERNENT PICS ARE DISCEIVING

WE HAVE BEEN AT THIS RESORT ABOUT FOUR TIMES AND WE REALLY ENJOY THIS PLACE, BUT THE ONLY THING WE DIDN'T LIKE IS THE FRONT DESK PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT FRIENDLY NOR HELPFUL AND I FELT A LITTLE DISCRIMINATED BY THIS WHITE LADY!!

I too use my valuable points to stay here and it was a waste. I should of known better I had problem 5 years ago for a family stay. The pool was being remodeled and I was not told this when I booked my stay. Who goes to Palm Springs to stay with out a pool? At least at that time they gave me back some of points. For this stay it was my sisters birthday and we were looking forward to visiting friends and family. I lived in Palm Springs for 20 years and had used the Marquis before. My very first stay was great but that was 15 years ago. The rooms have not changed. Once I checked in my sister and I went to our room. Well it was awful the bed sagged in the middle and the room smelled, it needed a remodel and not of Diamond Resort quality. After complaining I was given another room but I had booked a room pool side and one was not available at that time. I was told as soon as one was available I could move again and the next day I was moved again. The room was better than the last 2 rooms we were given but not by much. At lease it was pool side but the carpeting was filthy. It was so dirty it turned the bottom our feet black. The room was in much need of a remodel the patio was filthy and the chairs were broken. I complained to the front desk, who tried to be accommodating but what can they do with rooms of that condition. The rooms have not been remodeled in a least 15 years. I tried to make the best of my stay. When I checked out and got to my hotel in LA I found I had left a bottle of very expensive perfume. I called and asked for housekeeping and was given the voice mail of house keeping manager Maricella Diaz. I left a message and no returned my call. I called again the next day and2 more times I was given house keeping manager, again I left a message and again no one returned my call. I talked with someone at the front dest and was told they checked with house keeping and no bottle of perfume was found. I called to speak with the General Manager Nick Gronkowski and was given his voice mail at least 4 times and 4 times he did not return my call . I then called Diamond Resorts head quarters and they called the manager and made him call me. Mr. Nick Gronkowski finally called and said he was out of the office for a few days and this was why he had not returned my call. This I know was BS. No one at the resort return my call. Were they all out of the office? He then told me the bottle was found some how it was misplaced. He said he would mail the bottle to me with in the next couple of days. I believe him and I apologized for anger and explained all I wanted was customer service. I checked into the Marquis from Feb. 25, 2009 to March 2, 2009. I was told he would mail it about the March 13,it is now April 6, 2009 and I am still waiting to get my perfume. I called the resort again 4or 5 times and again no one returned my call. I have called Diamond Resorts headquarters again and was told they would call Mr. Gronkowski but we know how far that has gotten me. (No where)This is worst customer service ever. I will never stay again or recommend anyone else to visit the Marquis Villas. If i could I would sell my timeshare with Diamond Resorts. This is an update regarding what has happened and what the company and resort has done since our van was stolen from the parking garage at Marquis Villa on Dec. 14, 2008. See my previous posting from Jan. 8, 2009. Our van has since been found, burned and stripped in Riverside. To date, we have yet to receive a phone call or letter from the management of Marquis Villa offering anything - an explanation, an apology, an offer to help, an expression of regret, not even a call to check on what happened or how we're doing. My folks, who are members of the timeshare, and I have both sent registered mailings to Diamond Resorts documenting our concerns, anger and disappointment. My parents' letter has not received a single response. My communication with the Experience Officer at Diamond has been via email and phone. He called on Dec. 24, 2008 to tell me, pointedly, that they aren't responsible for what happened and that the employee who entered our room while we slept (to leave towels exactly where I left our keys) is a good employee - he actually went back to work the very next day! He emailed me a few weeks later to tell me, among other things, that he is consulting with his legal department regarding my claim for reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses. What has been worst of all, however, was the verbal scolding this same corporate officer gave me in early Feb. telling me how "disappointed" he was of my Jan. 8 review. If they don't like it, fix the problems, be professional and responsive instead of blaming the customer. There are serious issues at Marquis Villa that they are either unwilling or unable to accept, address and fix. Their handling of us since has been unacceptable and tells me much about the resort and company, its management and its commitment to serving its guests and clients. They don't seem to care one bit that my young children were in the room when the thief entered and stole our keys. They don't seem to care that the person who stole the keys has our address and house key. They don't seem to care that the theft of our main source of transportation ruined our Christmas vacation plans later in the month. They don't seem to care that it was devastating for us and embarrassing for the company and city of Palm Springs that we were left on our own to rent a car and leave. I've since been informed that our request for reimbursement of our out-of-pocket expenses has been passed on to risk management. Not sure what will happen next. I can't believe, particularly in these tough economic times, that Marquis Villa feels it can afford to ignore me instead of solving the problems at their resort that caused the theft in the first place. Their handling of this has compelled me to share my experience with others - so the same won't happen to anyone else! My review could have read much differently if they had, at the very least, been responsive and contrite. A simple call or letter of regret or apology from the resort manager would have done much to assuage our anger and disappointment. An explanation of how they plan to address the lack of security, both internally or externally, would have been appreciated. Better yet, how about a plan to install security cameras in the resort, particularly in the parking garage! Instead, I get ignored by site management, scolded by corporate for posting the negative review they deserved and no resolution yet on my request for reimbursement for expenses incurred as a result of theft. My advice to you? Stay far away from Marquis Villas. There are so many other resorts and companies that would never, ever treat a guest or client the way Marquis and Diamond have treated us.

Did not expect this low quality from a Diamond Resort. It was a lot of points & not worth it. Very old, smelled musty, mattress sagged, very old everything. They do plan to renevate----not soon enough for us. We left a day early.

My family and I arrived at the resort in our Honda minivan - we left in a rental car after our van was stolen from the underground, "secured" parking structure the last night of our stay. The van keys disappeared from a countertop in our unit exactly where an employee, entering our unit while we slept, had left a stack of towels. It was a devastating experience, particularly for my young children. What's been worse is how the resort and company has handled the situation since. Not one phone call or letter of explanation or apology from the hotel manager and a corporate official who said to me, "I don't know how we (Diamond Resorts) can be held responsible?" Bottom line - watch your stuff and lock your doors because if something happens, they will circle the wagons, protect their own and leave you on your own. Also, there are no security cameras installed anywhere in the hotel. When I asked if they planned to add them now, silence. Perhaps this is exactly the way they want it, but not good for members who pay good money and expect to be served and most importantly, kept safe. We went to the resort to vacation with my parents who are members, but we also went as prospective buyers. Marquis Villas and Diamond Resorts have made that decision for me, and also my parents.

We stayed here for New Year's and would never stay here again! After we checked in I noticed a small sign on the side of the desk stating that the heating system did not work, when I checked in they did not mention it. When I asked about it they said it was being fixed (Ha Ha). It did not work during our entire 3 day stay. We had two yr old twins freezing in our room. The fire place glass was missing so when we tried to heat the room with it the room got full of smoke (daughter has asma). The TV barely worked and was from the 1960's. The fan over the stove came on and would not shut off so we had to unplug it. The frige sounded like it was going to blow up. And on top of this the Manager was rude and told us we should have stayed somewhere else.

I love the location. There is a lot of room in the rooms. The furniture needs to be improvment. The front desk clerks are very helpful and kind.

Very spacious apartment with all the comforts of home and views of the mountains. Convenient to downtown with underground parking. Reception desk was very helpful. Excellent value. Furniture and carpets could use updating.
