Stay away until they have their act together
By ,
This property just changed to a Hyatt, and the place is run by a bunch of trainees. The management and service personnel are all brand new and have no clue yet how to run this property. Any call to the front desk was greeted with enthusiasm, but none of them produced the desired result, if any. Calls to the valet 15 minuted before we needed the car repeatedly got lost, a request to bring coffee cups to the room resulted in water glasses being delivered. For the price we paid I would expect something closer to perfection. Also beware that there is no restaurant on site, and the advertised ski-in/ski-out is spotty at best due to a dispute between the hotel and the Canyons resort according to the people working there.

great location and mountain It is the most convenient place we have ever stayed. the hotel is very nice for families with plenty to do an the mountain is huge.
By ,
We loved the skiing and the grand summit with the convenience and the amenities of such a great place. The area isn't developed yet but it looks like it is on the verge of taking off. Park City is a charming town and quite enjoyable with good restaurants.

Great Skiing
By ,
The rooms were extremely large. The pool was huge and hot 104' F outdoors with beautiful scenery. The skiing was great with double diamonds galore. The ski resort is huge from one side to the other must miles. Because it is so big it can big a bit lonesome but that makes for better powder. The food is great and the free valet parking makes going to Park City or Salt Lake a snap.

One of the best
By ,
We have been on ski vacations all over the Rocky and Wasach Mountain ranges. This place ranks up there with the best. Proximity to the gondola, heated outdoor pool, friendly staff, beautifully decorated facility and rooms. No to mention that The Canyons is a great ski mountain. Our family has a range of skill and we were all satisfied and very exhausted when it was all over. We plan to return to this resort very soon

Absolutely a wonderful place.
By ,
We have been several times over the past few years, and will continue to visit. The location and ease of access to the The Canyons Ski Resort is excellent. The view from the rooms on the upper floors are nice. However, most of the time in the winter, it is a bit too cold to stay out on the patios for long. Summer time is really cool, but it is very different from the Winter season. Summer is kind of like being a ghost town, but very relaxing. Overall an excellent place. It is about five minutes from downtown Park City, but they have a free shuttle every hour that is very convenient. We highly recommend a visit to the Grand Summit, you won't be sorry.

Reservation center lied to me about day rate
By ,
I called for a room and was quoted $400 per night. I actually called back a second time and spoke with the same woman to confirm this price. The $400 rate was pushing my limit but I wanted to treat my 16 year old son to a special weekend of skiing. I was shocked and surprised to find my final bill at $550 per night and the front desk manager refused to do anything about the difference. I asked to speak with the General Manager but he would not visit with me directly (even though I left my cell phone number). Through his front desk manager, he requested that I deal with the call center manager next week. This hotel has some positives but it isn't worth this type of money. I travel three weeks each month, have traveled to many countries including the Middle East and I have never had an experience like this (the rate is significantly different than the price provided over the phone). The room was a standard hotel room for this rate. I understand that people make mistakes and if the front desk manager had been allowed to resolve this matter, I would not be taking the time to give this review.

UNFRIENDLY STAFF AT OUR CONFERENCE. NICE ROOMS AND THE MOUNTAINS ARE BEAUTIFUL. A LITTLE REMOVED FROM THE CITY & RESTAURANTS. CLEAN. ONLY REAL PROBLEMS WERE WITH THE STAFF.

Truly a great resort
By ,
We felt really welcome the people at the resort are extremely friendly. It is perfect with or without children & the snow condition is hard to beat. The only thing I thought was not so great was teh food, but we live in San Francisco. High standards!
