NOT SO HOT!!
By mugsy, 01/22/10
Amenities were very disappointing such as old-fashioned box TV's in the room, lumpy mattresses, antiquated refrigerator, and chintzy decor. The on premises restaurant food has much to be desired, BUT you can't take away the beautifully enlarged beach, the cleanliness of the resort, and the friendliness of the staff. I think there are other resorts I'd like to visit next time.

the best resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/10/10
I have owned a week since 2005 and every year my wife and i look forward to spring break. This place is one of the best if not the best place to stay, i've been going to Cancun since 1984 and have stayed in hotels before i bought at the Sands. My wife and I had our wedding on the beach last year the staff planned everything for us and it was beyond our wildest dreams. We will be back in April 2010, booked the flight already and can't wait to go.

Great Vacation!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/09
Very clean, good food, reasonable prices. Good but shrinking beach. Best part is that it was not "all inclusive". Our friends down the street were "all in" and felt trapped. They never left the resort because of the extra cost! We ate at several wonderful restaurants at the two next door malls and in the bar district. We had a great time. My teenagers were looking for more things to do during the day, like pool games. The only major activities during the day were water aerobics and pool volleyball.

One of the most beautiful places on earth!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/06/08
We've been going to Cancun since 2002. Stayed in a hotel the first two years and then purchased a week at the Royal Sands. Last year we bought a second week. What a great time we've had over the years with our friends and family. They all want to go back for a second visit. There is so much to see and do. Each year it's been a new experience. The Sands is truly a 5 Star Resort. It's clean, the staff is very friendly and does whatever they can to make certain that your vacation is most enjoyable. Viva the Royal Sands!!!

Just Outstanding
By James, 06/24/08
We were given a week by a friend in 2003, rented in 2004 and bought two weeks in 2004. We never wanted a timeshare, but the Royal Sands changed that. We absolutely love the view, atmosphere, restaurants, and beach, but the best of all is the staff. Professional, friendly, helpful etc. etc. We see the same staff members every year and know many of them. Mgt appears to strongly promote internal promotion and provides on premises classes for employees. On site grocery is convenient and reasonably priced, unlike many which target a "captive audience". The facilities are absolutely immaculate. Best restaurant on premises is El Conquistador at Royal Mayan, but all are good. We have traveled extensively and this is one of our very favorite places. We almost always take friends or family and they are universally impressed with the Sands.

WE LOVE IT THERE!!!!!!!!
By tinDaniel, 04/18/08
My husband and I went to Cancun for the first time 5 years ago, while there we bought a timeshare at the Royal Sands.Since going over the years we have brought people with us,and the grandparents loved it so much so we bought another week with them at the Royal Haciendas. So we now have 2 weeks one week at the Royal Sands the other at The Royal Haciendas. We have three children and we all can't wait to go back every year.Lots of activities for the kids and my kids have friendships with other kids there that have the same week as us, so they get to see them every year and look forward to it.We love it!!!!!!

We go every year!
By none, 04/14/08
My fiance and I stayed at the Royal Sands when it opened in 2000. We loved it so much that we bought a timeshare the next year. We've only got 25 more days until we go again. We stay for 2 weeks every year. We rent the first week from a couple we met at the Royal Mayan in 1999 and the second week is our timeshare. We love everything about the Royal Sands - friendly staff, cleanliness, food, weather, beach, happy hour, painting ceramics, bingo, etc. If you've never stayed at the Royal Sands, I would highly recommend it. You won't be sorry.
