Change rooms if you don't like the first....
Ace hotel was pretty much what I read it would be, but I hadn't anticipated a few issues that bothered me a lot more than I would have expected.
1) noise, noise. I listened homeless guys argue one night for hours, and was awakened twice by the sounds of garbage? trucks tipping a dumpster or something. But the constant noise comes from the fact that the hotel is on a hill and trucks must rev their engines to climb it. That is really noisy. The windows are THIN, residential type.
2) smell in room. I had a distinctly musty and dog-like smell in my room. I couldn't quite figure out where it was from.
3) Really lumpy, cheap mattress.
4) No air circulation, unless you open the windows. ceiling fans would have rocked!
5) A ridiculous lack of hangers, hooks, etc. C'mon this was just silly. Put one on the back of the door, and perhaps a few other places so we can hang up our shirts.
6) Plug-ins are hard to reach (minor gripe)
Positives include...
a) great staff - friendly and helpful.
b) price - it cost
