This hotel is located in the heart of trendy Belltown, and it offers a place for guests interested in a change from the standard hotel room. High loft-style ceilings, sleek furnishings (a mix of Danish modern and Zen), and little extras make a stay here special. Most rooms share baths, although rooms do come with their own sinks and vanities. The two master suites, at a higher rate, have private bathrooms. The hotel is within walking distance of Belltown nightlife and shops and downstairs you will find the interesting Cyclops Cafe & Bar.

Change rooms if you don't like the first....
By Scott Clark, 6/8/08
Ace hotel was pretty much what I read it would be, but I hadn't anticipated a few issues that bothered me a lot more than I would have expected. 1) noise, noise. I listened homeless guys argue one night for hours, and was awakened twice by the sounds of garbage? trucks tipping a dumpster or something. But the constant noise comes from the fact that the hotel is on a hill and trucks must rev their engines to climb it. That is really noisy. The windows are THIN, residential type. 2) smell in room. I had a distinctly musty and dog-like smell in my room. I couldn't quite figure out where it was from. 3) Really lumpy, cheap mattress. 4) No air circulation, unless you open the windows. ceiling fans would have rocked! 5) A ridiculous lack of hangers, hooks, etc. C'mon this was just silly. Put one on the back of the door, and perhaps a few other places so we can hang up our shirts. 6) Plug-ins are hard to reach (minor gripe) Positives include... a) great staff - friendly and helpful. b) price - it cost

Budget on so many levels
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/30/08
I felt it was not particularly clean. Design element was good but the whole place felt like it was done up on the cheap. Definitely not worth the money. Location is superb (Belltown is great) and so was the front desk staff. They were very helpful. 2 people for ++$200/night? Never again.

good, but a little pricey
By space mountain, 3/18/08
the interior design and some of the amenities were great design but for the price should be at least a bath tub. ask for a room with artwork on the walls.

DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/1/07
The pictures don't give you the right representation of the rooms. The rooms are very, very tiny. The bathroom sink is next to the bed. Most rooms don't have a closet and when they say yes, this room has one..... don't believe them!!!! It's a tiny little crevice they call a closet. The rooms facing the street are very noisy because the windows are so old and loose. It feels like there is no window there. It lets all the noise in. You think $95 how bad can it be? Trust me.... it's bad!! NEVER AGAIN.

I will never stay at the Ace
By Dick, 2/6/07
I had heard good things about the Ace hotel, and was told that was where I should stay while in Portland OR- the weekend of Jan 12th 2007. I looked online for the Portland and couldnt find one, so I called the Ace here in Seattle WA, and specifically stated that I would like to book a room in Portland, for the weekend...I know I said I was going to Portland for my birthday a couple times so I do not understand why they allowed me to book for that location....as it is not even open yet!! Upon arriving in Portland and asking the taxi driver to take me to the Ace Hotel, imagine his confusion...and mine. I ended up staying across the street from the Ace Hotel that I thought I had booked a room--The renovation is still under construction!! Upon my return in Seattle I called the manager of the Ace here in Seattle to make sure I was not charged for a no-show...He didnt seem to care that whomever took my reservation failed to tell me that I was booking in Seattle and not Portland. The manager informed me that there was nothing he could do and I had already been charged the $92.48 fee for a no show! I feel that it was their mistake as I stated several times that I was booking in Portland and not Seattle. Because of this I will Never stay at an Ace Hotel, or reccommend anyone to them!!

Ace Hotel - Best place to stay in Seattle
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/21/06
We stayed at the Ace Hotel on Presidents Day weekend. I requested Room 107 because I heard that it's the best room there (the one on their website). This room is situated at the corner of Wall & First (you have great views of both streets..yes, windows on two walls) and right above the Cyclops Bar. The room gets kinda loud at night but if you can stand it, it's well worth it!! The Ace Hotel is right in the heart of Belltown so you don't have to go far to find the Seattle nightlife. I thought that the "shared bathrooms" deal was going to be a problem but everything worked out great. I never had a problem finding an open bathroom (total of 5 shared bathrooms). For parking, you can pay $17 (in & out priv) to park in a lot that's about 2 blocks away (not bad) or try to find parking on the street (good luck). And of you choose to go out at night time, the front doors are locked at midnight but your room key can open it. I don't recommend the Ace Hotel for anyone looking to get pampered with a lot of amenities and service. Bottom line, the Ace Hotel enhanced the Seattle Experience for my girlfriend and I & I'd stay there again.. wouldn't have it any other way!!

What a great place!
By Nichole, 10/1/05
This hotel is great. It's hip and clean, without the bad attitude of some boutique hotels. I liked it more than the Clift in San Franciso. It's in a great location too--there are plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, and cabs are easy to catch if you want to go a little further. A perfect urban hotel experience.

Modern, nice vibe hotel!
By jessica, 9/30/05
I have stayed here both with a group and as romantic get-away. Both times the experience was great. The staff is freindly and helpful, but not obtrusive whatsoever. You can almost not notice any other guests or staff in the building, unless you need something. If you can, get one of the deluxe rooms with the massive pivoting mirror door between the bathroom and the bedroom! Fantastic & cool! The surroundings are sparse, yet sufficient -modern and clean. Check it out next time you are in Seattle - THE ACE HOTEL is definitely NOT a corporate hotel!
