Not Very Good Place Not Recomended
By nonya, 08/05/09
My parents and i stayed here as they was takeing part in a festival in Chahokia Mounds. My younger brother and i tagged along to go to the hotel and enjoy the swimming pool. We had one room with two queen beds so we called and asked for a roll away bed and when i did the lady at the front desk was verry rude acting she said to me "i have one left for the night " i said ok thanks and hung up. I gave my brother the money to go pay for it before it was gave away to another customer and when i called down to front desk to let her know he was on his way she said to me "well you will have give me a minute because that means i will have to make the bed up" i replied ok no problem then she replied to me " neverrmind i will just throw it on there and you guys can make it up yourselves" verry rude then later that nite being that thee was 4 of us in the room my brother and i was in the lobby so we asked for towels and she gave him 6 of them and then when we went to get them off the counter she said what room you in i told her and she said in a real snotty voice " and you need 6 towels?" and for the price of the room it should have been a whole lot nicer the room had no refridgerator or microwave and it smelled stale. The woman that was working earlier as my mother checked us in was snotty and rude acting too. The contintal breakfast in the morning was not very good for the price as well. the room was very small and the bathroom door was broke u hade to lift up on it to get it to even close was not all the cleanest eather. I wold not recommend this hotel to any one the Holiday Inn that was in the same parking lot looked a whole lot better. Dont spend your money on this hotel.

Very basic - disappointed
By Jason, 07/28/06
This is a very basic, no frills hotel that is a little pricey for what you get ($62+tax). Although the staff was friendly, the rooms were extremely stark, but clean. No pictures on walls, no attempt at decorating what so ever. The continental breakfast was a joke. We will not stay at another Red Roof Inn. Comparatively, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Effingham (80 Miles East), during our return trip and for the money ($59+tax), Holiday Inn Express looked a 4 star facility compared to the Red Roof Inn. Plus, the Holiday Inn Express in Effingham was in a much nicer location with restaurants and shopping within walking distance and their express start breakfast was incredible!

Overpriced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/27/06
I was extremely disappointed in this hotel. It was way overpriced. Red Roof used to be a good value, but that apparently is in the past. For the price I would recommend a different hotel. We stayed there just passing though. We just wanted somewhere to sleep. The continental breakfast was a plus.
