Jake's, Treasure Beach

Situated in a quiet fishing village, this novel place is owned and operated by the family of late director, Perry Henzell, of the Jamaican movie, "The Harder They Come." It started as a restaurant in 1993, and has expanded from there to appeal to those artistically inclined. Cottages are all pastel colored and decorated with a mix of Jamaican, Mexican and European styles; each has pieces of local art and antiques. For those who hanker to get away from it all, the sea view rooms do not have phones, air-conditioners or televisions. A stone's throw from the sea, guests can stroll along the beach, play in the sea or bask in the sun in total privacy.The restaurant prepares mouth-watering local fare, such as saltfish and ackee. Continental breakfast is served.
