They couldn't have treated us nicer!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/09
The rooms were just gorgeous! The food was delicious in their main dining room and the Deli.Friendly staff...I had trouble making my key work in our room and because I had just checked in that day I had my room key, as well as, the print out with my name and room number on it....one of the service people helped me out, but, would not of, if didn't have my key and the paper they gave us after we checked in with our room # on it. We arrived on a Tuesday which meant I could play BINGO...that was fun and lots of people were playing. After we got back home we needed to get back in touch with Fortune Valley and Annadella was extremely helpful to my husband. My husband had gotten home with a payout(not a real big one) but he had kepted his player's card and after checking with the manager ,Annadella was able to help him out!We plan to make the trip again, but, not sure when. You will be pleasantly surprised what a nice place the Fortune Valley Hotel is...still can't get over our beautiful room..2 queen size beds, couch and chairs...frig with snacks...actually, I'm sure you'd call it a suite. But, all employees of the hotel were extremly nice during our stay. My husband and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a lovely place to stay and the 2 floors of casinos were really nice with lots and lots of slot machines, many we had never seen. We hadn't been there for years and what wonderful changes have been made to Blackhawk, as well as, Central City. It didn't looked anything like we remembered it...but that was about 40 years ago. Oh yes, before closing they even run a shuttle every 15 minutes. We took the Ameristar Bus Tour out of Gering, Nebraska. Lovely bus...good driver...and wonderful hostess. I'm sure will do it again...fun way to go when you don't have to drive. Thanks again to all the personnel and staff of Fortune Valley. What great hosts they were to all of us! The Mumbys

Who designed this place???
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/04/08
We were on the 3rd floor, but that was not enough to keep the sounds of the live band out of our room until 1:30 in the morning on the first two nights. Who designed this place??? We were told by the desk when we called (months in advance) that they were "kid friendly", and when I looked in the hotel guide to see what activities they had, I was greeted with one page that basically said, "If you are not with your kids at all times, we will call social services". Why not just say, no kids allowed or wanted, and we would have stayed elsewhere. We were on a ski trip, and thought it would be nice to gamble at night, but we will not be staying at the Fortune Valley again.

What a wonderful place and staff is very pleasant. Not a lot of choice in the eating department. We had a very enjoyable three night stay at Fortune Valley We will stay there again

High time in the Ole Town!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/10/05
What a blast! We had a ball! A group of teacher friends all got together to work off the week's stress and really enjoyed our stay. It was a last minute escape from Denver but the treatment that we recieved from the personnel at Fortune Valley was "Grade A!" Wee'll be back again!

one night stay for gambling
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/05
The front desk was very helpful. Stayed on a whim and gambled at another location. Room not huge but clean and about what you would expect.

The room was right over the bar and was so loud we couldnt sleep. The service was poor. The only good thing was the gaming floor wasnt croweded.

Great stay at Fortune Valley
By Alex, 04/09/04
Overall an excellent experience. The front desk, valet, and maid service was top notch. The casino floor had plenty of room with a good assortment of slot machines. All the employees were very friendly and seemed more than happy to help. I highly recommend staying here.
