Meribel 2004
We had a wonderful time here. The skiing is fantastic, and we found a local restaurant guide Meribel-Unplugged.co.uk that helped us find all the best value lunch restaurants in the 3 valleys. We recommend this guide and you should look up information on their web site before you leave.
Apre ski centres around the hotel bar or local pubs in town.If you want a lively bar then near the hotel at Rond Point is the hot apres ski spot for Meribel with live bands every afternoon. It actually has a very nice restaurant too for lunch. The name is the same as the area "Le Rond Point"
Night Life in Meribel for the young is definetly the English Pub in the centre with live music every night.Dicks T bar is the favourite English disco but the Loft is more international. We took a trip up to Mottaret on a Tuesday night as we had heard about an unusual bar where everybody dances on the tables. It absolutely true.It is an old 70's night disco with some famous hippy DJ and it is the wildest night for fun we found anywhere and a very friendly atmosphere too.Do try to get there. We are told it is only on a Tuesday though.
All in all Meribel is a wonderful place for a ski holiday but do try to find out as much as possible about the place before you go as it is very big and spread out.
