Description

60 Thompson is a unique New York hotel experience, combining the best of the old with the best of the new. More of a boutique than an impersonal commercial chain, with barely one hundred rooms, 60 Thompson ensures every guest fine service and top-notch accommodations. Guests can enjoy great dining at Thom Bar, with its cozy fireplaces and inviting atmosphere; and Kittichai , with its excellent Thai cuisine. Also don't miss a fine drink at A60 bar with its flashy decor and super-cool ambiance. Please see the website for further information.

Terrible
By ,
We were looking forward to staying here because of the great location. What a disappointment. The small "upgraded" room was badly in need of refurbishment. Worst, the temperature could not be controlled, such that the options were to maintain it at around 90 degrees or open the window and let in all the street noise etc. I have stayed in probably 50 hotels in New York, and this was by far the worst.

Four star hotel - ONLY as to price.
By ,
We were two people and the room only has one chair so we took turns sitting LOL. There was no table of any kind so room service had to be consumed either in the bed or on the floor. Some people may consider that hip, but it did strain our sense of humour. If you like a hot bath you were out of luck. There was no tub. The people and the service were OK, but giving this hotel four stars is laughable. This hotel NEGATES the old saw that "you get what you pay for" - in our case $650 per night. Ouch.

60 Degrees of Separation
By ,
We came 24,000 miles and thought we would stay in a hotel that symbolised New York - the hip and the now. This hotel misses the mark. If this is hip I suggest New Yorkers take a trip to Europe so they can see what really is hip. Where the hotel goes wrong is that it doesn't get the hotel part. 60 thompson is all about bald black guys, in black clothes leaning against doorways. It is about the common area decor and the exclusive bar (which was closed both nights of our stay due to private events). The rooms are small, packed with redundant furniture, the towels are hard and thin, as is the toilet paper and the rooms are noisy. when we arrived our room reeked of cigarette smoke. We rang to ask to be moved to a non-smoking room only to be informed that all rooms here are designated non-smoking...

Stylish and Well-Located
By ,
Although we were there only one night, this hotel was a great place to stay. Situated in Soho, within easy walking distance of great restaurants and shops nearby. We were upgraded at no extra charge to a suite because our room wasn't ready at check-in. Personable and helpful staff. Would have loved to have stayed longer.

Let me sleep
By ,
I asked for a quiet room as I noticed loud music in the lobby and the desk clerk said I was being "upgraded". I did not have time in my room as I met friends for dinner. I came back and the room was actually moving to the bass. It turns out I was over the DJ station. I called downstairs and was told there was no room elsewhere but I could get ear plugs from them. It must have happened before! I was moved the next day and no one apologized. I left a nasty review and no one contacted me. Go somewhere else where you are treated like a human being.

A Bit of Heaven
By ,
The staff was warm, friendly and extremely efficient, the best hotel bar in the city, chic decor, terrific rooms with all the amenities including a fabulous bar area - fully stocked - and, as if this wasn't enough, when you lay down on the bed at Sixty, you feel like you are dropping into a cloud. This was the most incredible bed I have ever encountered - from the mattress to the bed linen - just a, "little bit of heaven."

Cool, Comfortable and Fun
By ,
We just returned from a week at 60 Thompson. This is quickly becoming one of our top NY hotels for a long stay. This is the second full week stay in six months and we weren't disapointed with our return. The location in Soho can't be beat in this "real" neighborhood which is slow paced and quite which is very nice after weekend shopping or coming from caotic midtown. The rooms are a very well decorated and efficient. The bathroom is especially nice. The bed and sheets are very comfortable. Everything was spotless. The only complaints I have are the service on the front patio is very slow and the work out room is tiny. But, that doesn't dampen my enthusiasum for this hotel. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Lots of "cool" people around, a people watchers paradise! The roof top patio is amazing! A wonderful place to hang out and meet friends.

HIdden on Thompson Street
By ,
There is absolutely nothing to dislike! This little haven tucked in on a quite street in Soho, radiates an air of sophitocation, poise, class, elegance in a modern setting. The room as small but elegantly simple. Decorated in a very zen fashion, you walk in wanting to lie down and rest for a few. The Lobby is inviting and classy, beautifully decorated with leather chairs and couches, one simply desires to sit for a tea or cocktail while waiting for one's room to be ready. The staff is friendly, intelligent and resourcefull. The restaurant invites you to a culinary experience that tickles and satisfies even the most discerning of palates. An absolutely gorgeous variety of cocktails to quench one's weery lips. All and all the best rest spot in NYC by far or at least in SOHO. Enjoy!

Really cute hotel
By ,
I loved the service and decor of the hotel..People were nice and very helpful. The decor was very modern and interesting. The rooms are a bit small for the price, but the rest of the hotel makes up for how small the room is.
