Unexpected Treasure

The initial appearance was welcoming however I was concerned about the location being directly off interstate 75, the possible noise from traffic moving through. The lobby was like walking into a southern plantation. Every detail was beautiful, neat and clean. The lovely ladies at the front desk were so polite and kind, and without me sharing my concerns one suggest and offered a room at the opposite end of the hotel so the noise of the interstate wouldn't bother us if we were light sleepers. I appreciated that so much, but since my three teenage children and I have learned we always carry a fan to keep in the room. I do want to add the noise was not even an issue. We voluntarily took a room with a view of the mountains which was the closest to the interstate. Even without that fan being turned on the noise was not an issue at all. I have stayed in the finest hotels from Atlanta, Cancun, the Carolina as well as St. Barts in the French West Indies. I will highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling the southeastern part of Ky. The room was gorgeous, the bed so very comfortable, clean and welcoming. The only two things I would suggest or like to see changed. The piano playing in the foyer during breakfast. As beautiful as the piano was, the music wasn't very welcoming almost gave my family the haunted mansion vibe. The breakfast was nice however the set up wasn't very user friendly as we had difficulty finding counter space when needed to place our plates while making our coffee etc. Other than that, I would absolutely recommend this location. We were not able to tour the museum however due to our own schedule conflict. I will add where we had planned to stay only one night, we stayed an extra night because we were so comfortable there and the price for the room could not be beat. To get the room we were in at that price was very surprising to me. Hope that doesnt change!
