Magnuson Hotel Calumet Park, Calumet Park

I woud never, ever recommend this place or the one next door to it .. On a visit to chicago to see family ,we just wanted a quiet place to stay. It was anything but that we could not sleep for all the noise and Smoke(if you know what I mean) coming from the other rooms. there was always a party going on and teenagers running thru the place.And the morning we checked out it was WWF slap down in the lobby, police everywhere broken funiture. What an experance for a 7&3 year old SMH.

This hotel and the one next door to it are ran by the same unprofessional people. I would not recommend staying at either hotel. That's why they change the names on the hotels so often. Rooms not worth the money you spend you are better off staying at the double tree in alsip or the Hilton

First of all this hotel was very unprofessional the room was not clean not one time doing my stay there, they only provide me with clean towels. It was not a pleasant enivorment. some one stole some rings out of my room . i was charged additional fees for item that was stated to be missing out the room but no-one every called me back to tell me what items where missing and how much was each item. the rooms where over priced for the area this hotel is in.

The hotel is not in a good location. I stayed here only because it is close to where I needed to work and there aren't many name brand choices in the area. The rooms are reasonably clean and updated. The internet is slow. VPN does not work in this hotel. Over a year's period of time I've stayed twice and a colleague stayed once and between us we were never able to connect to our company through VPN. This works in every other public internet access I have ever tried in other Holiday Inn Express hotels and other hotels and coffee shops and airports, so it is unique to this hotel. The staff was no help w/r to this problem.
