Our new home in Fargo!
My seventy-three year old mother and I usually stay in Fargo at least two or three times a year, either on our way to/from a holiday, or for just a quick weekend shopping trip. This was the first time that we stayed at the Wingate Inn, and did not know what to expect...
When we arrived the night of Friday, August 11th, 2006, we were greeted by a friendly staff member. Since this was our first visit, she explained all about the hotel and its amenities. I had requested a quiet room on the top floor away from the elevator, and that is what I was given.
We entered Room 405 to find a huge room with two well worn queen beds, a clock radio, two chairs (including a swivel one), a "comfy" chair with ottoman, a table, a desk, a large (fifty-plus channel) television with remote, a refrigerator, a coffeemaker, an iron/ironing board, and a closet with a safe. The large bathroom was clean and included the sink, a hairdryer, shampoo, and conditioner.
The hotel had a twenty-four hour business center beside the front desk, with an Internet access computer, fax machine, and copier. There was also an indoor swimming pool, which we did not use.
I did complain that the beds were well worn for such a nice room, but was told that new mattresses would be in place in 2007 for my next visit.
My mother and I liked this hotel, as it was very comfortable and made us feel like we were at home. We have already booked a room at the Wingate Inn for our next visit to Fargo...
