We went to Beijing for our honeymoon, and stayed at the Wangfujing Grand.
We were there for 2 weeks, the staff at the hotel was very helpful and nice to guests.
They will write directions in Chinese for you, so you can give it to the taxi driver.
Breakfast is included, they have western and chinese food, it can be boring after a few days, because they have the same food everyday.
Lunch is good.
The rooms were confortable, we were in the executive room and the standard room. Wireless conection is available and it was complimentary.
Walking distance to Wangfujing Shopping Area.
Great Chinese hotel.
You are within walking distance of restaurants, Wangfujing shopping district, night markets(must see), Tienaimen SQ, Forbidden City, Lotus Lane and Baihai Park. I found it very safe to walk at night. Conceige were most helpful. They would write the name of the sight we wanted to go to...like Beijing Zoo, Summer Palace, Lama Temple or Temple of Heaven on a card in Chinese. We would show the taxi driver and off we went. Taxis are very cheap. Show your hotel name to get back. We booked a day tour to the Great Wall and domestic airline tickets through the hotel. Currency exchange and ATM in the lobby was most helpful. Excellent breakfast buffet was included. Our deluxe room was upgraded, so we were happy. Rooms were clean and comfortable, but that is not why I was here.
We had a computer in the room to email photos back home. Way cool!
The hotel is, and looks, quite old, with torn and stained carpeting, very cheap room furniture, and one of the smallest bathrooms you could find at this class.
Location is good, lobby is certainly nice, and the staff is generally willing to help. On this stay, it was quite loud in the hallway, but I doubt that is a regular issue.
It's a pretty nice hotel, but not the most luxurious that you'll find in Beijing. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk away from the shopping centers on Wangfujing. We had a nice room that looked out over Forbidden City (which had an especially nice view at night). Service was just okay. I found the desk girls a bit cold and unfriendly.
Redwall Hotel is located in the central of the middle Axis, 3 minutes walking from the Forbidden City. It is
in the urban town area, which is the most authentic old town and regarded as the Hutong protected area ...
