Place was clean enough not great. No breakfast, pay extra for WiFi. Won't take local phone reservations- must call 800 #. Only soap and towels in bath.
They were painting the hall when I left.
It was very inexpensive, only $40. Nice, courteous staff. 24 hr service. I had a few problems in my room though. There was no heat, I couldn't sleep all night long. The phone wasn't working either. Although in their defense, they did agree to give me another room, but I refused because I was too lazy. There's a 24 hrs McDonalds and Burger King right outside, and a nice Italian restaurant. The motel is about 15 min away from the Essex Junction train station.
There was a comment card in the room. No pen. There were a couple of small bars of soap. No shampoo. It was not a bad price, but there was little to offer. Guests of hotels should at least have shampoo and conditioner.
Last Nov. and early Dec.I stayed at the above with my dog, Pepper. I found the Motel clean, service excellent, and I felt the Staff went out of their way to make me and my dog comfortable and welcome. In fact, as I made my way back to Conn, I was sad to leave.
Thank you.
I stayed at the Motel 6 specifically because the reviews here were pretty good. Are we talking about the same place ??? It was filthy !!! I booked for a week and checked out after a night.
The woman at the counter wasn't rude - so I don't fault her - but she looked totally overworked and stressed out. She was answering the phone and trying to wait on people and dealing with all sorts of issues. It was utter chaos. The halls and elevator floors looked like someone drove a broken Vermont pick-up truck down them and lost a LOT of transmission fluid in the process. I got to my room that I'd reserved two weeks earlier and the bed was disheveled and the top cover was on the floor. The window screen was bent and pushed out. Someone wadded toilet paper into the gaps. Oh, and to save a few bucks, I can do without USA Today; an iron; a hairdryer; and wireless access. But no clock radio ??? They cost $8 at Walmart ! A national hotel chain can't spring for an alarm clock in the room ??? What a truly awful experience. I know it is a budget chain; but it is not a mom-and-pop. I have an expectation for cleanliness and service from a national chain. I'd like to see Tom Bodett spend a night in this place.
I spent two nights at this Motel 6 with a friend of mine when we were visiting the Burlington area in July '06. Overall, it was okay. You could tell that it was recently built. It's clean and in a convenient location.
The room was small, but the beds were comfortable enough. There was not a bathtub; the bathroom only had a shower. I didn't mind that though. (I'm just used to seeing hotel bathrooms having full bathtubs.)
Both mornings we stayed there, I was able to walk to the fast food places (McDonald's & Burger King) and eat breakfast.
I think I had a misunderstanding about the nightly rate. When I reserved the room online, I thought it was supposed to be cheaper than we actually paid.
The staff were nice and professional enough, but they weren't very knowledgeable about the city of Burlington and things to do in the area.
Overall, the Motel 6 in Colchester was all right. Nothing special. I may or may not consider staying there again.
