Trek to Breakfast

Movenpick -have mixed feelings on this resort.Rooms were very large and clean but they are laid out in clusters and we were in cluster 7 which took us about 15mins to walk to the restaurant and reception, found it a bit of a trek especially in the heat of july!Would recommend anyone less able to ask to be roomed in clusters 3/4 where you are closer to main building. The staff were very helpful & polite especially in reception, nothing too much trouble, beach was huge but had to walk out for miles to get water above knees!(ideal for children)having said that,3 pools &the lagoons were all deep enough to swim in.This hotel is lovely, but we found it a bit impersonal, probably because it is such a large complex.El Gouna itself is fabulous-the marina was our favourite ,loads of great restaurants & downtown was brill for shopping, locals really friendly-novelty not to be hassled-(not allowed in area)-having been to Sharm &Hurgada this was a pleasant change. If you want a relaxing holiday this is an ideal hotel, not much in the way of entertainment at the hotel, but plenty of nightlife in the area if required. One comment I have to make-vast majority of guests were german-no sense of fun & yes, grab that sunbed!!
