Courtyard by Marriott Seattle DowntownLake Union, Seattle

Update 2008! This hotel was one of the worse Marriotts I have EVER stayed in. Came into town for a wedding, was overcharged for the room, not all rooms have views of the lake or skyline, ours overlooked the neighboring condo where we got to see more than we wanted. The bathroom was small and the vanity even smaller. The people working the front desk were rude and one girl couldn't even give us directions to a restaurant. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Never did try the food because someone else told us it was horrible. Even the bar was overpriced and boring. Oh and don't forget the fact you can't smoke anywhere except outside and the windows in the room were sealed shut so we couldn't even open one for fresh air. And then there was the panhandlers outside and the numerous cab drivers.....Bad, Bad hotel!

Was told when I booked this hotel, which is not downtown by the way, that they offered a complimentary shuttle service to downtown attractions. However, upon check-in, we were told the shuttle had been discontinued. Very disappointing. This added to cost of our stay substantially with cab fares. Sister hotel Marriott Residence Inn a block away still has its shuttle to downtown attractions (Courtyard guests can't use it), and other hotels in the vicinity also maintain shuttle to downtown. Closest attraction is the Space Needle, one mile straight up a steep hill. I would recommend you book elsewhere until the shuttle service is reinstated.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Courtyard Marriott on Lake Union. We were in town for a wedding, and about 75 guests stayed at this hotel. The rooms are very spacious, clean, and have all of the necessary ammenities. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The pool and restaurant are very nice (great breakfast buffet) and the entire building is well maintained. Many of our rooms had an incredible view of Lake Union. The hotel is in a good location and in walking distance from Seattle Center, Downtown, and Pike Place Market. There is also a convenient shuttle that takes you to different destinations in the city. There are many great restaurants around the lake surrounding the hotel. We had such a comfortable and enjoyable stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Seattle.

it smells where they throw trash smell from my room. room service freindly even though order was wrong.. not as nice as i thought but enjoyed the surrounding areas on my vacation. seattle is a nice place to visit. enjoy
