The staff is enough to make you go elsewhere.
Consumer beware. This is an honest review of a not-so good stay at the Fairfield Inn, Niles-Warren, OH. Firstly, I walked into my room at this non-smoking hotel. It reeked of smoke. Funny thing, there's a sign on the room desk, a "no smoking" sign with a fine posted. Looks like they missed that one. I found the staff to be somewhat rude, on the phone and in person. The night clerk that handled my check-in was quite unkempt, which set the stage for unprofessionality. There was an issue with the room rate agreed on upon check-in and what was charged at check-out. A couple of bucks wouldn't have mattered either way, but when a guest is overcharged $126.00 with no remittance, there's a problem. The general manager as well as his staff were unwilling to listen, let alone compromise. The were a reflection of the lack of responsibilty to train his staff to accomodate guests and to act in a proffessional manner. This one stay will certainly pose an influence on my next vacation/business trip. I will never stay at a Fairfield Inn or Marriott-affiliated because of this hotel's inappropriate staff and disregard for guests. They made it clear that it's ok to mistreat, overcharge, and not listen to patrons. Please save yourself the trouble and book a hotel room elsewhere if you visit Niles-Warren, Ohio. Thank you.
