A Comfort Inn to Avoid
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/05
Comfort Inn should be ashamed to have this place as part of their chain. As part of a group of ball players and their families, we had 17 rooms booked for 2 nights and were treated to an experience that soured us on Comfort Inns. Lack of water after 7a.m., tv sets with very limited choices (no local CBS station? and in one room with 3 teenagers, no working tv at all!)
The people in charge, at least the ones we tried to deal with, gave no satisfaction and claimed they could not contact any one to help us. Safety wise, one of rooms had wires where a smoke detector should have been, the maintenance crew made a habit of blocking the hall with open doors to their rooms, and since the halls were not airconditioned, doors other than the front desk were propped open to let air in. To top it off, safety wise, if you have a child, beware of the breakfast bar where there sits a hot self-serve waffle iron.
Discounted rates promised were not provided, nor were our AAA cards taken into account. On the Comfort Inn websites, they list several options, none of which were posted or offered upon our arrival. English was a barrier(theirs, not ours)during check-in.
All in all, stay away from this place.
