Too Laid Back
By Johnny, 01/01/10
This hotel had a lack of organization, communication, and overall professionalism. When we first checked in, the bed sheets had hair on them and it was too late for the hotel to change them. On top of that, the towels had hair on them too. I blame the lack of organization for this dirty room, because the housekeeping consistently messed up throughout our stay. Our rooms ceilings leaked toilet water, and the hotel manager did not even offer us anything to repay us! She said, "it was not the hotel's fault." Then who else's fault was it?!? We came with a large group and you can tell that this hotel did not deal with crowded rooms on a daily basis. The elevators broke, the housekeeping was slow (one day they did not even clean our room), and late checkout was a mess. There were ants in one room, stolen wallets in another, and the hotel staff just stood there and watched. As our rooms ceiling leaked, we sat there for 20 minutes before the manager even came up and spoke to us. I will never stay at this hotel again! Management must be changed.

Good Hotel
By Rachel M, 08/26/08
The only negative was that the rooms weren't ready until 4pm so when we arrived at 1pm and my boyfriend had an interview at 2pm I had to drop him off and find something to do because I couldn't lounge in the hotel. Other than that it was great. It was near some cool looking shops. We could see the newspaper building and the Lakeland Center from our window (front of hotel). There are great restaurants and malls up and down two of the main roads. The pool is small, we didn't get to use it. We enjoyed watching Olympic opening ceremony and morning news broadcasts on the 42" TVs. They have clean fridges that are empty so you can bring food with your or back from going out to eat. The vanities are large and I was able to unpack a lot of my toiletries for easy access. The bed is heaven although there are far too many decorative pillows, and we slept quiet well. The "bar" area is great for food prep and is right next to the aforementioned fridge. The couch area was great! The tv can rotate so you can watch in bed or on couch easily. Clean bathrooms, nice soap and shampoo offerings. Public restrooms are well-kept. Elevators were always a wait as they were occupied, but it wasn't awful. This hotel is busy because it's probably the nicest Lakeland has to offer. Several coach buses came and went in the less than 24hrs. during which we were there. The price is worth it!

Southern Hospitality done right!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/21/07
Liked the convenient location and friendly, helpful staff (great hospitality!) The hotel had just been revamped and was positively spotless. The room was very modern (A+ in decorating) I loved the 42" flat panel tv in the room---it made me want to stay in and order a movie. I was sorry that we could only stay for one night. The hotel is geared toward business folks--no restaurant or bar, but you can order light foods through a kiosk system.(Good salad and soup).

You MUST Stay Here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/05
First, there is a front desk woman named Chris who is an angel! After our horrible experience at the HoJo the night before (see review at this site), she was very helpful and made things right for us for the rest of our trip. Thank you Chris!! Beautiful, elegant, spacious, CLEAN, friendly, super location - this place has it all. Breakfast so great you can have something different every day! Friendly and helpful staff. Popcorn in the lobbey at night and the 24-hour coffee/tea are an added benefit. The suites are perfect for a family. With the mini frige, micowave and sink - even brining the baby along was a breeze! Love the HUGE vanity for bathroom supplies. We had 6 in the suite and did not enter anyone else's personal space when we were all there. Great pool - beautiful scenery. Every morning, we awoke to a beautiful palm tree outside our windown. I stayed there 5 years ago and the quality certainly has not changed. Great location to get to just about any of the major attractions - but, don't forget to take a day to walk from the hotel to the shopping district. This is the ONLY place I will ever stay or recommend in the Lakeland and surrounding area!
