Horrible Front desk

Rude front desk manager. Cancelled our reservation when we saw the racial attitude of the manager and went to the hotel next door.

Door fell off

We have two kids. The eleven month old, who barely walks yet was playing with one of the doors that separates the TV room from the bedroom (you can see them in the pictures). Well, the door fell off and barely missed him by three inches more or less. I was horrified. Went downstairs and receptionist told me: ok, we will send someone upstairs to check on that (as if it was some problem with the AC or something)... Subreal. The carpet is detached from the bottom of the wall in some parts, which shows some kind of big staples that they use to attach them. There were four of five glasses for us to use in the kitchen. We used one and we had four, used another and had three... and so on. All the food we brought froze in the refrigerator including string cheese, yogurts, etc. The breakfast was mediocre. I had to go to the kitchen to warm up my milk (one morning I had to go twice to the kitchen to tell them there wasn't any milk lef in the machine)

Perfect family stay

HUge rooms, lovely decor, inviting, staff was very welcoming and friendly. Kids could make their own belgian style waffles. Free breakfast was very good. Would definately stay again.

great hotel for the price

Great service,good response to requests for extras,nice free breakfast and free drinks at night (2 Hours). Pool and rooms well kept. Not one of the giant chains with hundreds of rooms, but large enough that you don't feel cramped. My family and our friends would stay here again. The location ( just off Interstate 4 and right by International drive was great. Nothing was more than a 15 minute drive.

Stayed in #410 very clean comfy. Really good value will reccomend to all. Will use again just off International drive so less noise. Perfect fo all area.

We booked the room thru AAA. I liked the fact that they offered a free shuttle service to the theme parks and there was a breakfast buffet and happy hour as well. The breakfast buffet was okay. Happy hour was poor and the bartender was horrible. We stayed the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. We were told the wrong times for the buffet as well and showed up a half hour early. The kids loved the pool and game room. The room could have been a bit more cleaner for me. It did not smell fresh at all and was not as clean as I would have liked. Overall it was a good value for what we paid and we will go back and stay again. The location was great and we walked to eat dinner and there was lots of places to walk to near the hotel. Just hope for a better bartender, one with a smile. And a cleaner room.

Perfect for travelling with a baby

My wife and I were taking our 3 yr old and 7 month old to universal and disney for a week. We needed a kitchenette and breakfast in the hotel. This was PERFECT!! The breakfast was good and it changed everyday-did I mention FREE. They also had a free happy hour every night which worked out great so we could have a few drinks after putting the kids to bed each night. The room was as clean as you'd expect a hotel to be, but it was serviced each day while we were gone. The air conditioning worked almost too good-we'd wake up in the middle of the night to turn the thermostat up. I especially liked that it's minutes from the Universal complex, where we spent 4 of our 6 days. Overall, we liked it and plan to make the hawthorne our yearly destination for our annual orlando trip.

Would stay at again!

Did a lot of research on-line regarding hotels in Orlando and I am very happy we chose this hotel. We stayed in a two bedroom suite which was large and clean. After a day at the theme parks, always returned to a clean room with fresh towels. Very good breakfast buffet - nice to be able to eat right at the hotel at no charge. Also a complimentary, nightly happy hour with appetizers and even had dinner one night. This was a very nice surprise! The pool was not extravagant but our kids loved it. The pool and pool area were well maintained. Front desk staff courteous and helpful. Also able to purchase theme park tickets in the front lobby which was convenient. Great location and price!! Close to all the major theme parks and lots of restaurants. Will definitely stay at again and recommend to our friends and family.

Disappointed

No hot water in the mornings. Front desk clerk explained that maintenance had been notified, but was unable to correct the problem in two days! Other guests had similar complaints about the lack of hot water. I was unable to immediately check out due to computer problems.

the only thing that this establishment got right is the free breakfast & happy hour. We stayed here 1 week, 5 out of 6 nights we had to ask for wash clothes. We asked about the pool, they said they had one, but didn't tell us it was underconstruction, as good as a lie. We will never stay here again!!!
