Motel One, Winnipeg

Customer service is terrible. It took us 20 minutes to convince the people to give us an ice bucket. They tried to make us use the garbage cans!! Someone staying here we ran into was told there was a pool and the website I booked the hotel on said there was a pool here too. Even had pictures!!! A waste of money!! Put two people down on reservations but only got one small bed. Another person made reservations here but they didnt come through so they were going to charge him for another room!! They say it includes a complimentary breakfast but thats cereal. The hot tub wasn't working and they have to open the door for you to get in the sona/hot tub area and they are not enough people working there to accomadate everyone. Also the sinks are outside the bathroom which I just thought was weird. Worst hotel experience ever!!!

The room was filthy when we checked in. The sheets on the bed had not been changed because they were full of hair and stains. I went to the front desk clerk to ask for clean sheets. She brought sheets and asked me to help her change the bed. When we removed the fitted sheet, the mattress pad had several urine stains. Disgusting! When we came to check out in the morning, a customer in front of us at the front desk and having some type of problem with his booking. We stood there for 20 minutes and were completely ignored by the one staff member at the front desk. Another staff member appeared from a room and I politely asked if he could help us check out because we had to go and had waited 20 minutes already. He was rude and said there was only one computer and we would have to wait. Ridiculous! We waited another 15 mintues before finally checking out. I would never stay at this hotel again and do not recommend staying here.

1. They have mice. They only had traps set up rather than an exterminater?? 2. When I asked for extra towels I was given a floor mat. I asked the clerk why and she replied "we don't have extra towels". What kind of hotel does not have extra towels???? 3. Smoking is still permitted in the hotel on the second floor.....this smell still spreads through the hotel, more so on the third floor. (where I stayed) 4. The sheets on the bed were stained....by what I am not sure. A stain is a stain....its plain disgusting. 5. The Manager is always MIA. It doesn't matter when you go to the desk or what time you call, she is never there. Poor managment is the hotels problem as the front desk clerks were very sincere when trying to help out with guests. 6. To top off my already horrible stay, I had my husband and two children with me and was put into a room with one queen sized bed despite making reservations for two queen size beds monthes earlier. The explanation for the switch was that they had to accomadate guests already in the hotel first. WHY have a reservation choice if the room is not going to be reserved. I stayed there in june '08 and still have not been able to get ahold of the manager or had my phone calls returned. The hotel prices are like 80$ and up plus taxes....The online prices are not the same as the hotel itself because they have not been able to get them changed so be careful. My advice is to stay FAR away. If it was cheaper I would say it would be good for the traveler needing a few hours sleep. I do NOT reccomend this hotel to anyone. Hope this helps :D
