Candlewood Suites Pittsburgh Airport, Pittsburgh

Stayed at this hotel during my one night in Pittsburgh. Hotel was very clean and affordable. Front desk staff was great and gave me directions to downtown. I had directions I had printed from yahoo maps but it always help to get a local's opinion. No complaints about this hotel.

Pros: Well-equipped rooms with large refrigerator, two heating elements, microwave, dishwasher, and composting sink. Clean, comfortable bed. Spacious working area and bathroom. Efficient check-in & check-out. Quiet location off main roads. Nifty cabinet near check-in with convenient cooking options for weary travelers. Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Home Depot and plenty of dining options within sight. 15 minutes to downtown Pittsburgh. Cons: Was awakened at 11pm to alarms, as someone on the first level burned toast. Waited outside for 45 minutes for fire and police to turn off loud alarms. Upon informing front desk of the inconvenience the following morning, was met with a detached "this hardly ever happens" response. VCR clearly on its last legs and in need of cleaning. Oddly, no spoons in the room. Overall, I enjoyed the stay. A reasonable value in the $70-80 range. The hotel is a spitting image of the Candlewood Suites in Arlington, TX.

The location was great. We were surrounded by shopping and dining options and were just 15 minutes from downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'd definately go back.

We stayed here for one night on our trip to PIttsburgh and although it was older than anticipated and had a funky older smell to it, it was conveniently located next to several restaurants/bars/shopping centers and was a quite jump into the city.
