First Time At A Hampton Inn, & Never Again [THEFT]
By ,
I stayed at Hampton Inn Horse Cave this past weekend (August 2011), as part of a family trip. Overall, the place seemed great. We arrived on Friday night, and Saturday morning we headed out to Mammoth Caves early in the morning. My boyfriend and I are both college students as well as work full time in order to pay for school. Therefore, we were on a tight budget. That morning we had set a certain amount set aside in my wallet which I had shoved in my duffle bag with clothes. And that money was to be used in order for us to travel back to Ohio. We were gone 8 hrs on Saturday. When we returned half of the money I placed into my wallet was missing. And the only two people who knew about that money were my boyfriend and I. We told the front desk about our situation, and the only thing we got in return was a blank stare and “Well that doesn’t happen here.” After arriving back to Ohio I decided to look up reviews on this hotel. And actually found 2 reviews in which warning people to NOT stay here because of thievery. I am actually quite shocked, especially since this place is a Hampton in. I honestly would have never suspected this here. SO I WARN YOU STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK! Not only did I have money but personal information, and currently living in fear of identity theft.

Thievery at Hampton Inn.
By ,
The Head Housekeeper that one reviewer was talking about was awlful! Her name is Pam Sidewell. She is a liar and a thief! I used to work at this hotel too and it was bad. The Manager would cover up for her all the time. She would steal people's stuff as well as our tips. Pam has only been demoted (ONLY demoted) but she still steals so if you stay here-watch out!

Never Stay There!
By ,
I have a neice who used to work at this Hampton Inn not too long ago and let me tell you something....if you value your valuables, don't stay here! The regular housekeepers are fine and very honest, but the head housekeeper steals not only from her co-workers, but from the guests too. My neice caught her a couple times coming out of a room where people were staying over and on both occasions those people had something missing. Tip money was hardly ever found by housekeepers on the second or third floor, but you would get some if you worked on the first. This (and other happenings) led my neice to conclude that she was also stealing tip money. When my neice worked there she would also tell me how the head housekeeper would put them down in front of guests and sometimes even yell. I have seen this lady when I would pick my neice up after work sometimes and I would have never thought of her as a head housekeeper due to her manner of dress. It was pretty shoddy to say the least and when I spoke to her she was rather rude. My neice quit over the frustration of not having anything done about this woman. I'm sure the hotel itself is fine and my neice said all of the housekeepers she worked with were great, but I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone unless you bring your own safe with you. And leave your tips in a sealed envelope at the front desk or manager.

Hampton

This is not a good hotel for business travelers. There is no printer for the guest to use. It is not very clean due to remodeling right now. Otherwise good for your every day travelers.

I'll be back

The staff was excellent and the room very compfortable and quiet. A great value and I loved the pool. The only drawback was the unfamily type book/video store down the road.

Hotel was clean and staff was very friendly. Loud party in commons area went on late into the next morning disturbing many guests. We were refunded a nights stay for our trouble after contacting hotels 800 number. I would stay there again.
