First Time At A Hampton Inn, & Never Again [THEFT]
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/15/11
I stayed at Hampton Inn Horse Cave this past weekend (August 2011), as part of a family trip.
Overall, the place seemed great. We arrived on Friday night, and Saturday morning we headed out to Mammoth Caves early in the morning. My boyfriend and I are both college students as well as work full time in order to pay for school. Therefore, we were on a tight budget. That morning we had set a certain amount set aside in my wallet which I had shoved in my duffle bag with clothes. And that money was to be used in order for us to travel back to Ohio. We were gone 8 hrs on Saturday. When we returned half of the money I placed into my wallet was missing. And the only two people who knew about that money were my boyfriend and I.
We told the front desk about our situation, and the only thing we got in return was a blank stare and “Well that doesn’t happen here.”
After arriving back to Ohio I decided to look up reviews on this hotel. And actually found 2 reviews in which warning people to NOT stay here because of thievery.
I am actually quite shocked, especially since this place is a Hampton in. I honestly would have never suspected this here.
SO I WARN YOU STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Not only did I have money but personal information, and currently living in fear of identity theft.
