Red Roof Inn Austin South, Austin

The hotel was very worth while. The staff was friendly and attentive. We had four different rooms and they were all nice and clean. The location was great as well it was close to everything; downtown, shopping and resturants. We would recomend this hotel to anyone going to Austin. We were very impressed.

You know I have read the reviews and don;t see them to be true. I stayed there for the evacuation For Ike for 3 days not bad rooms were clean. the front desk clerk not friendly then. Been back once in April15, 09 everything was clean the service was better. Stayed there again on 3/10/10 The rooms were nice and clean and the front service desk clerk was outstanding. every time I go it gets better and better. Come on people your paying 50 to 60 dollars for the room except it to look like the Four Season. I am going back there this Friday April 15.

Where do I start? Lets see, the alarm clock was broken, the room phone didn't work for starters. By 12:00 noon the next day, I asked if our room was going to be cleaned and was told yes, they just didn't get around to it yet. Left the room and came back that evening, it was never cleaned, no one had come in at all. I had friends that were staying in another room across the hall from me. I went to their room and saw that there was dried blood on their sheets. They told me it was like that when they got there. Room service DID come in to tidy their room- but instead of clean sheets, they just straightened up the same blood stained ones. This place needs to be fumigated as it is not fit for humans. Only wish my friends who booked this place would have looked for reviews first.

# 1 your hotel does not even look like this picture on the outside. the room quality was deplorable. the shower head was hanging from the wall, the bathtub drain plug was laying in the bathtub. the bathroom floor was dirty, likewise the carpet. we did not touch the beds for fear of getting lice on us. we paid cash for this room for two nights. after seeing the condition of the room, we left for about 45 minutes, came back and ask for our money to be refunded. the girl at the desk refused to give us our money back, she stated that "the money was already gone". this was a total of $160.98 down the drain.

This was our first and last time to a Red Roof Inn . Our check in time was 2pm and we got there at 4pm and we had to wait 30min to get into our room. And then when we got to our room the A/C was not on I turned it on and got nothing , I then called the desk and they told me that it takes 10 min. I know that wasn't true so I went down and asked for the manager and he sent a guy right up . I then went back to my truck and then back up to my room and the tech was still not there ,so I called the desk and demanded another room and we got one. It was just a very bad visit.

The room we stayed in had a 3 foot hole in the mattress and boxspring. When I called the front desk, the clerk (Joe) rudely said we could move to another room, take it or leave it. I asked for a manager and he said one was only available 8-5, Monday -Friday...he said I could acll then to complain then he hung up on me. i walked to the front desk to complain about the room and being hung up on....arguement, clerk could not call manager, instead he calls the police to have us removed from the room for complaining about the service. (side note: he said I threateded him and that I was intoxicated...I am a 5' 3 female who does not drink, smoke, or do drugs) THEN, he called the manager that could not be called before to let her know the police were called. The police had to instruct the clerk that he HAD to give us a refund to leave the property....which we gladly did and stayed at a super nice Comfort Suites across the street. After all this the clerk would not give his name to us to report him. The "refund" we got had a different name on the folio, so we are goingto dispute the charges. We also heard he was rude to others in the hotel about giving extra towels, and a room had a toilet flood. Buyer beware!
