location was perfect
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/10/08
The location was perfect and the staff went out of their way to assist us with information on ski packages, tours and shopping. The service was great! The complimentary breakfast was a real treat and a money saver. We met other guests from all over the United States and enjoyed visiting with them.

Surpisingly wonderful hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/17/07
The rooms are a good size for the price. It is a wonderfully cozy boutique hotel with a very nice and knowledgeable staff. It is also in a more quiet albeit still central location. I really have no complaints about any part of this place. We'll definitely be making this place our primary hotel when we make return trips to Philly.

mom stays here everytime
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/07
I used to live in an apartment across the street from The Alexander Inn. When my mom came to visit, she tried them out. The place runs like a homey bed and breakfast. Clean, interesting rooms, a very nice and helpful staff, a parking voucher, even a decent breakfast is included. She goes back every time she visits (I moved away from that block 5 years ago).

Terrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/09/06
Rude staff, tiny rooms, smelled like smoke (even though it is supposed to be nonsmoking.) It was an awful experience. I travel to Philly constantly on business and it was probably my worst hotel experience there.

Friendly Staff makes for a great stay .
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/27/06
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff makes this a great place to stay while visiting Philadelphia. However, the standard roooms are very small. They did not honor the discounted rate I was quoted when I made a confirmed, guaranteed reservation for the friday and saturday nights of our stay and charged their maximum rate for those nights. I was told that their rates are subject to change. Despite that, the hotel was beautifully restored, clean, free computer use and a fitness room that was too warm, and a wonderful staff, made our stay very pleasant.

We Loved This Place!
By Donna, 09/05/06
The desk staff was exceptional! Very friendly, charming & helpful. Great bunch of people! John, I miss you! You're SUPER! Remember the sisters from CT? (Nurse & Teacher) Cleaning staff were very accommodating & pleasant. The accommodations were very clean and pleasant, decorated old-style boutique.Plenty of towels & ammenities. Friendly, family oriented atmosphere. Computer & exercise room available; Ice machines, vending machines. Described as B&B; Self-serve style, nice, clean, continental style breakfast, plenty of fresh fruits.Had toaster for warming bread & bagels. Certain items available all day: danish pastries, fruits, ice water. The only thing I missed was hot breakfast foods; like eggs, pancakes, breakfast meats. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS LOVELY B&B!
