Injured at hotel and treated with indifference

A very large picture hanging above a bed, approximately 36" x 36", fell during the night hitting me in the head. Incident was reported to the desk that morning. That afternoon I spoke with assistant manager, Spencer Busser, who asked what I was doing at the time that caused the picture to fall at 2:55 AM. I responded that I had been sleeping. He offered me $12 out of his own pocket so my 83 year old mother and I could go to Dairy Queen for dinner. I requested that I be reimbursed the money I had paid for the two nights and was told by Mr. Busser that was impossible and that the owner, Nate Patel, was aware of the situation and he would not reimburse me either. I was told to forward medical bills to them. We checked in on August 5, 2011 and checked out on August 7, 2011. The owner, Nate Patel, did not contact me until Monday evening August 8, 2011. At that time he apologized for what had happened. He stated that the rooms had recently been painted and that the picture had not been put back on the wall properly. However, he was unwilling to reimburse the cost of the room. He did say I should send medical bills that I incur. In addition I had been promised a first floor room having made the reservation 3 months prior but was told by Mr. Patel when I checked in that things just didn't work out that way. On Saturday morning the toilet ran over onto the floor. All in all this was not a pleasant experience. This was the 3rd year in a row that we stayed at this hotel. Desk clerk and housekeeping staff were helpful
