Great place and value

Stayed here while working nearby and it was an exceptional experience. Close to several restaurants, relatively close to beach access. Some hot food options at breakfast was nice rather than just continental style breakfast of bread and an apple. Tall ceilings in the room was a surprise, and made it seem more spacious. TV and internet good quality. Rooms well cleaned every day. Parking for trailers/boats/etc useful in our case.

Great value for the money

I liked this hotel and would like to recommend it to everyone. We stayed 2 nights and got a really good off season rate and thought it was a steal. Breakfast, highspeed internet, clean pool (yes it was warm enough for a dip) and a comfortable bed. Thank you Best Western on the Island

Awesone stay

Great property in the perfect location. Close to the city, beaches, and the fishing is practically at the door step. We stayed a week and absolutely loved it. We go back in November.

Look elsewhere....

We were unable to check in util after 7 pm because there was a 'plumbing problem' and there were no other rooms available. There was hair on the floor of the bathroom and in the tub. Needed quarters for the vending machine and front desk employee said they have NO CHANGE whatsever, only bills. The people in the room above us must have had 'FREE RANGE' children because they were up all night running and stomping on the floor. Lots of outside noise. Never stay here again.

Bad customer satisfaction

At first it was okay, but once it became dark there was a lot of noise outside, people running and screaming. Then the next day after housekeeping had gone to the room I end up having some personal belongings missing. Told management but all they said was if I wanted them to do anything about it I would have to get the police involved first. How horrible and rude, I will never go there again!

Kinda roughing it

This hotel is your basic Best Western - very comparable to the Motel 6. It's conveniently located right over the bridge from Corpus and about a five minute drive to the beaches. The general area of the island is very clean and safe. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. Our first impression of the room was that it was not bad for a Best Western. It was clean, and the furniture was in good condition. What I didn't like about it was the bathroom. It smelled like urine, and had a dingy appeal - I made sure to wear shower shoes and tried to get through my showers as quickly as possible. So if you don't mind that, you'll like the hotel! They also have wireless internet connection.

I would sleep in the car!

Let me just say this. We were in a non-smoking room and the a/c system pumped the smoke in for us and the a/c was broken. The room would not get cool. There was a dog in the next room thant barked all night and mgmt. did nothing. People were yelling and fighting in the hallways until 3a.m. only stopped after I called the police. In the a.m I informed the day manager of the events and she just smiled and said she was sorry for the inconvenience. I had planned to stay an additional night but checked-out and went to another hotel. I would NEVER go back and good luck!

Names can be deceiving

This place is not the Best in the West! Management said the place is seven years old but has been totally "remodeled" meaning new paint and nothing more. I stayed in room #114; if that's your number bring ear plugs or live without the air conditioning. I did neither and lost two nights sleep. To be more comfortable in bed I suggest you bring along a good pillow. I couldn't switch to another room because the place was booked full. I would stay there again if I could not find another vacancy in Corpus Christi in the $120.00 per night price range.
