Would definitely stay again
By Cyndy, 07/03/09
I loved this place. Rooms were nice (wished a big larger) and clean. Breakfast was excellent and free! Shuttle service was great. Take you anywhere within 5 mi and pick you up when you were ready to come back. Very close to Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. Free computer/internet use. The manager's reception from 5:30 to 7:30 was nothing to rave about. Just nachos, chips and pop (I think one beer if you drink). Great location; close to a mall and every food place imagineable. Desk staff were friendly and very helpful; even gave us maps and great directions for everything. The only thing I disliked were about 500 high school football players in town for football camp! They smelled up everything and were loud and noisy. I would stay here again!

Attentive staff and clean suite
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/09/08
Close to Busch Garden, shuttle service, staff attentive to problems (toilet needed flat and a light bulb needed to be replaced) all taken care of before we could unpack! Happy hour (FREE beer/soda and snacks) each night along with an excellent breakfast buffet. Would certainly return to this one again...

WORSE EMBASSY SUITES EVER - COLD FOOD, POOR SERVICE, RUDE WORKERS FOUND OUT IT WAS PRIVATELY OWNED - OWNERS PAY TO USE NAME
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/29/08
This is absolutely the worse Embassy Suites I have ever stayed in. And I have stayed in them from coast to coast. Not worth the money at all. Rude management. Rates quoted over phone 2 hours earlier were a hundred dollars cheaper then when I showed up and I had called the hotel directly. Not the 800 number. I called Embassy Suites corporate and they forced this management to give me the quoted price since I had the date, time and name of employee. I refused to give the local management the employees name because I knew this rude guy would fire them. Found out later, while stuck in an elevator with 3 other different people that all of us were paying different rates for same room. I was given the lowest rate, which made me happy. But of course I had to argue for an hour to get what I was promised. Room was fine and we got our pick of location. Happy hour was a joke. Limited to one drink every half hour and we got colas. 8 oz of ice and 4 oz of cola. Only one of three elevators working entire time we were there and we got stuck in the one working for over 30 minutes. Management could care less when everyone was complaining. Staff could care less if they waited on you or not. Desk people stayed on personal cell phone calls while you stood there and waited. After a couple of minutes I told them to get off the phone and take care of me, a guest. Shuttle bus driver begged for tips, which is unheard of for Embassy Suite employees. Breakfast was nothing like the real Embassy Suites offer. Waffle irons were not working and cooks said they did not feel like fixing omelets - like they are suppose to do for guests. Fruit was burised and rotting. My family said all the hot foods on the buffet were all cold, including the scrambled eggs and gravy. And we were there right after they opened for the day. We all think food was left over from day before and they didn't heat it up enough. I only ate a bagel with cream cheese and had coffee. They charged for WIFI in the room. Only two computers in work area so none were ever available. I had my laptop so I could sit by the front door if I wanted to. I didn't because of the noise with people coming in and out. They do not tell you that the bottled water in the room is $5.00 a bottle if you drink it and charged to your room. We brought our own so we didn't use theirs; but it still should have been posted since it was just sitting there for use. Did not meet one person there who was happy with the service. Total strangers were discussing it in elevators, in the halls, and at breakfast the next day. Staff said they were treated horrible by owners and management so they just did not care. I could not believe this management and staff. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. WE HAVE STAYED AT THE WINGATE, ACROSS THE STREET EVERY TIME SINCE THEN AND WE ARE EXTREMELY SATISFIED. READ MY REVIEW ON THAT. Thank you for the opportunity to give my opinion.

Great Hotel
By JohnL, 02/21/06
The hotel was very nice and clean. It is close to everything, Busch Gardens, USF, Museum of Science and Industry, downtown, Channelside. They have a free happyhour from 5:30 to 7:30 every night, also have a free gourmet breakfast every morning. I'm not talking about a continental breakfast. This is a made to order omlet style breakfast.

Attacked by the bell hop
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/06/06
I was sitting in my car at the hotel with the engine running about two feet from a brick wall. While my wife checked in. On his way to another car the bellhop was two lazy to go around my car and didn’t ask me to move my car. He squeezed the cart through the wall and my car and smashes into my car. The whole car rocked. He scurried off as I got out of the car, to inspect t, not saying a word to the bellhop. He then yells across the lot that he did not hit into my car while I was inspecting it. I yelled back and said yes you did the whole car rocked. He then puffed up and stomped around, I asked him what he was doing he said he was trying to restrain himself from attacking me. I went and told the desk clerk and management. I told them that the guy hit my car, yelled at me across the lot and threatened me but they didn’t care. This was an anniversary present for my wife, and an expensive hotel, I am very sorry I went to this hotel. Please, Please don’t go here the service is horrible, I have never been treated so badly by a business in my life.

The only place to stay in Tampa
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/04/05
It is diffacult to find a hotel that is half way decent by Busch Gardens. I've stayed at Embassy Suites USF many times. It is a little pricey. But I like the free shuttle service to Busch gardens and the free made to order breakfast in the morning.
