Not a Las Vegas Experience

The Marriott Suites, though a nice hotel, will not give you the Vegas Experience. If you have never been to Vegas, places that advertise to be "just off the strip", are way off the strip. If you stay here, you won't be able to walk to the strip, and even if you did venture this, you will end up at an area of the strip where "less than desirables" are, not at the location of a posh casino.
The Convention Center is about a five minute walk, where you have to cross an 8-lane highway, but you won't get a hotel that's closer to it. The monorail entrance is in the Convention Center parking lot, and this is probably your best bet if you don't want to pay the cab fares, but if you are in Las Vegas alone, the walk to the monorail at night is not your safest option, since the only way to get there is to cross an un-lit Convention Center parking lot, which is huge. The Marriott is located past the Wynn, towards Circus Circus.
If you are going to Vegas for business, and have no interest in anything on the strip, this is a nice place to stay. Although my "suite" was actually one room without the double doors they advertise, the hotel was still nice and the staff was friendly and willing to assist. The pool is very small, smaller than most have in their backyard, and you won't be impressed at all by the set-up and pool area. If you want to stay in your room, watch TV, and work on the computer, this is the place to stay. If not, head to a hotel on the strip. Even if going for business, it's easier to stay at a stip hotel, and catch the monorail to the Convention Center.
