Days Inn El Paso

As a shareholder of the Wyndham hotel chain, I like to frequent the 'brand(s).' Clearly, this was a bad choice for me on this night. I stayed the night there on June 28th 2008 hoping for a good night sleep after traveling 12 hours on the road only to be awakened through out the night by the smell of stale cigarettes. I asked specifically for a non-smoking room and was bitterly disappointed. The next morning I told the clerk how aggravated I was by this and handed her the 2 ashtrays from the previous user. She did knock off 4 bucks and change but I'd gladly have let her have it back for a good nights sleep and a 'clean' room. The room itself could have easily been mistaken for a 1990's hotel chain in its glory days. However, the peeling paint on the walls and the calcium build up on some of the plumbing fixtures makes me wonder how long it has been since this room actually had a good 'spring cleaning!' I am sorry to say but this will most likely be my last time in a Days Inn. With America's Best Value Inn coming in at nearly 20 bucks cheaper for a cleaner, easier breathing room, I see no reason to support 'the home team.' Respectfully Submitted, daeggman59

HOTEL NIGHTMARE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/02/06
The service we first received when we arrived was horrible. We had made reservations online and they got all messed up. The site also says online that a microwave and ref. are available, when we arrived there were none. The shower was dirty and the button to pull for the shower was broken. We had reserved a non-smoking room but ended up with a smoking room that REEKED of smoke. One of the cleaning ladies ended up taking my cell phone charger and when I went to pick it up at the front desk they gave me one that looked almost identical to my actual charger but one that ended up not being mine because it wouldnt plug into my phone. They must've given mine to someone else that had their charger taken out of their room. The pool area was nice, however the rude and perverted looks and comments me and my mother received from the maintenance guys were unnacceptable. Furthermore, the only channels we received on the tv were mostly in spanish and the ones we did get in had very fuzzy screens. Lastly, upon checking out my mother had accidently left a bag of over $100 worth of shoes in the office, no more than 20 minutes later we called to see if it was left there thinking if it was found in the office one of the workers must've seen it and kept it to see if anyone would report it. We believe, that the workers decided to take the bag for themselves. This was really the worst hotel maintenace and service I have ever received. The online descriptions are very deceiving.

Clean and safe

Small fenced motel. Rooms were clean and well kept. Good value compared to Red Roof Inn and others in price range.
